Hey mankey, similar path to me ... 987s then 997c2s then macan turbo. The macan is much more of a cruiser. Steering is a lot different to the 997 and 987.

Rarecolour, how is the macan vs the rs6. I always wanted to get a rs6 or rs4 but never go round to it. Wondered how they were different or similar. Those are more powerful on paper?Rarecolour wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 6:50 ammankey wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 5:36 pmI like it but the wife said "Yuck"Rarecolour wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 4:54 pm

My RS6 was mapped to 508bhp and 775nm, had coilovers and uprated arbs. For a heavy car with the engine right at the front, it was still a great handling car for its weight, and the power/noise was superb!Anothertoy wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 12:28 pmRarecolour, how is the macan vs the rs6. Still not run this in fully so can't really compare speed, but this handles great and have the luxury of soft suspension or hard, the RS6 was just a real teeth rattler

I know. I had the most fun in the 911, although the next car a 718 Cayman S had the same performance of the 911. That Cayman I've just sold was a really light, manouverable car but now I've moved back to 6 cylinders I'm much happier.Anothertoy wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 12:25 pm Hey mankey, similar path to me ... 987s then 997c2s then macan turbo. I'm learning about the Macan every day and using it as a tester to see if I might like a more recent model in a couple of years time. For the time being it's a great car that will pull it's chunky weight better than most SUVs on the road.

Like the sound of the RS6 but what do you make of the '21 Macan?Rarecolour wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 12:48 pmMy RS6 was mapped to 508bhp and 775nm, had coilovers and uprated arbs. So far, LOVE it. I've only driven it about 4 times, 2 of them have been really long drives and can't fault it one bit, well, apart from the exhaust being waaaaaay too quiet.mankey wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 1:36 pmLike the sound of the RS6 but what do you make of the '21 Macan?Rarecolour wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 12:48 pmMy RS6 was mapped to 508bhp and 775nm, had coilovers and uprated arbs. Would be good to get the stop start turned off forever, but that's just part and parcel of current combustion engines.
Oh, wish it had android auto as standard as well. I believe it actually does have it installed, but the pcm has to be hacked to get it working and that'll void the warranty.
So, my comment on no faults, yeah doesn't take me long to make that void.
How are you finding yours?

Doing just fine with mine. It’s a 4yr old car but has already convinced a few people think it’s new.
For a huge lump it has one hell of a pull when you get it going and it’s so smooth eh?
This is my test into the SUV market and I’m sure will lead to something more recent and who knows, it could be electric in a couple of years but not convinced right now.

Not been able to give mine full throttle yet, still running it in. But yes, even taking it pretty steady up to 4k rpm you can feel the power. The gearbox is the stand out thing for me, so smooth and fast.
This is my first Porsche, a close friends who's had about 10 now said I won't be able to own anything else after owning a Porsche, they just get you hooked.
