Hi all

Great to become a member of this forum! Ive just put my deposit on my first ever Porsche which is due to be built in October, but I am awaiting the build date from my dealer...

I haven't gone mad on the extras as I soon found out they add up very quickly

Here's the build http://www.porsche-code.com/PNLZ3731

Is there anything you would/add or remove from this? I understand its all personal taste but this is a new experience for me and would like any advice.

One thing I am unsure on is the BOSE upgrade. My X6 has the Harmon Kardon system which is very good but I am unsure on what the standard ones are like in the Porsche and whether to save the additional £800 upgrade? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers

Dave

Afternoon. Looks great

I am also new to this forum and have also just put my order in for what is currently an Oct Build

My only query / consideration was the PASM option. Its currently off the options due to the parts and the tragic floods in Germany causing it to be removed from the configurator. I was tempted to delay but after discussion with a couple of dealers decided to plough forward with the order as it stands

PASM is standard on the S and GTS, so it will be interesting to see if that pushes the delivery back a bit for those of us expecting an October build.

Today my OPC said delivery may get pushed back to December on my GTS.

Hi Dave. Welcome to our friendly forum! That’s a very classy looking spec on your Macan S! Personally, I haven’t gone for the Bose upgrade on any of my cars. Not sure that my ears would appreciate enough of a difference to justify the £800+. ‘Your mileage may vary’ as they say. ;)

Cheers,
Simon

Welcome.

Forget the PSE, it drones very badly when cruising so the best feature is the off button, floor a Macan without PSE and you will get a roar, just not as loud..

Spend the cash on more worthwhile options or look upon the cash saving as that of two years fuel cost.

Thanks Simon

I was unsure on the BOSE option and as was the wife! I may give that one a swerve :-)

Similar to the Bose sound upgrade, I was unsure whether it would be worth it. I did like the quietness of the Macan we had a test drive in and as you say, when you put your foot down it does sound lovely.

Hi

When selecting my Macan I started with an S and wanted similar options to those you have chosen, including PSE and 21" wheels. PSE is sounds great, but not on motorway I would agree, so depends on how much you will drive on the twisty fun roads.

When you add £11.3k of extras I think it makes sense to look at a GTS as residuals will offset the extra costs and many of your options are included. The 8-way GTS seats are different from those on the S and I find mine very comfortable

If you keep the S I would recommend a spare wheel, dimming mirrors and GT heated wheel will be better with SC.

This would be a spec I would look at based on the options you chose on your S. Extras are down 50%. Just something else to think about, there are so many differing opinions and criteria driving them.
