Morning Everyone...

I just can't leave the Macan fold... So after returning from 16 years living on a tropical island in Thailand, the December before last I bought a 2019 Macan S. I loved it, the comfort, the handling, the looks, it was an amazing car - but after 3 months of ownership, I couldn't justify the 22mpg I was getting using it daily to run my kid to school, etc. In the end I traded it in for a 2018 911 C4 GTS which was even more fun and got better mpg.

I still missed the Macan and needed a daily and was lucky to find a 2017 diesel with only 10k on the clock and most of the options you don't normally find, i.e. air suspension, sports chrono, etc. I loved this car, it would get me 35mpg, it was perfect. This January we returned to Thailand and I sold it. Things have got bad in Thailand with the covaids, so we decided to return to the UK for the summer. I bought a 2018 M4 competition to run around in (as I've always wanted to try one) and wasn't impressed, so wanted to change it.

I'd always regretted selling the last Macan diesel as it was such a great spec car and had spent months on autotrader looking for another one of that spec, but nothing... until a few days ago... I couldn't believe it, my favourite colour Macan came up, with all the specs I wanted. Saphire Blue, 21" Turbo alloys, Air Suspension, Sports Chrono Package, 1 previous owner, etc. However this one also had a few bits more... Sports Design Package, Carbon trim, Sports Exhaust (on a diesel???), Bose sound system and a few other bits and bobs. So I bought it and it arrives on Tuesday. I'm so excited to come back to the Macan fold again. I will not sell this car, even when we return to Thailand, I'll keep it here for when I need to use it.

I guess first thing I need to order is some rubber Porsche mats and boot liner, then maybe run some diesel injector / dpf cleaner through it, give it an oil, oil filter, fuel filter and air filter change and enjoy it. :D

I also want to change the chrome window covers to black, maybe the badges on the back as well and possibly the roof rails.

Have a great Sunday,

Matt.

Beautiful, best colour by a mile but sadly dropped now.

A black wrap on the window trim would look good.

Welcome back.

I see the previous owner has removed "diesel" from the front wings so only you will know the car drinks the black stuff. I had five years with a Sapphire Blue SD and loved it.

I did that to mine when the ceramic coat was added two years ago, having sports exhaust as well, it at least doesn’t sound diesel like from afar.

Great colour that sapphire blue.

Is the sports exhaust the same as the petrol version, with a vacuum operated valve to make it louder? lol

Yes, I believe so. There certainly seems to be a butterfly valve at the rear of the exhaust. I’m surprised there aren’t more SD’s with this exhaust as it really does make a difference.
