Hi All,

I took delivery of my 67 plate (2018 MY) Turbo on Friday :D . It has replaced my C6 RS6 Avant.

The original owner seems to have been fairly liberal with the options including 21" Wheels, air, 18 way sports seats, Bose etc.... even a carbon/leather steering wheel... Bought it from Dick Lovett in Tewkesbury so has a two year warranty... fantastic service so far...

As for the car, it is impressive (not necessarily from a performance point of view - it is almost 200 bhp down on the RS6 - although the performance is still more than acceptable) but it is smooth and comfortable when you want to potter around (and even comparatively economical compared to the 17mpg average in the RS6) but when in sport/sport plus it goes and handles very well...

It sits well in the garage with the other new arrival... the long awaited GR Yaris.

Pictures to follow when the weather improves.

Paul.

Enjoy your new stallion Paul

Being an AUC i'm sure Tewkesbury will have listed the standard and optional extras on their advert, but it's worth checking the spec with service department using the VIN number.

Welcome, Paul!

And congrats on the Turbo! :)

I’ve bought a couple of cars from Tewkesbury OPC and I think their customer service is great.

Has your Yaris been to nearby Litchfield Motors?! ;)

Cheers,
Simon

Enjoy.

The power/performance thing is interesting. One of my previous cars had a 4.7v8 engine with 420 bhp and weighed 1600kg. The Macan S i have on order has a 2.9v6, weighs nearly 2000kg and only has 375 bhp, and yet the (quoted) 0-60 time is exactly the same. Go figure. ( top end is slower though, by nearly 20mph)

Aerodynamics? Remember the Austin A40 had a lower drag coefficient than the E type jag, fact!

I am not complaining about the performance. The quoted 0-60 times for both the RS6 and the Macan Turbo are similar (within 0.1 seconds) but I'm not one for traffic light grands prix. The Audi, in most circumstances would undoubtedly be faster; however, that is not an issue for me, at least... just an observation. I will say that the Porsche is deceptive in its performance... to me, it is faster than it feels and, as a bonus, it is, in the 150 or so miles I've done, much more economical... in general driving ~17mpg for the Audi v ~23mpg for the Macan...
