Hi Folks,

Decided to join so I can learn a bit from the forum regards the Macan as planning to get a Diesel S between now and spring time 22 (if I can find one - ha!). My cousin has a 15 yr old Cayenne that is still going strong at 185k miles and which inspired me to the brand, since I am fed up of the PCP fandango, then have decided to break out and buy a car that I can keep - must be an age thing too. So look forward to checking out the posts. Cheers. Neilly.

Hi and welcome.

I also have an old school Cayenne, which is an amazing all-rounder. Defo get your point about the brand and the PCP malarkey. Good luck with your search.

There are countless happy SD owners, and lots were sold, so hopefully you’ll be able to locate a good one!

Welcome Neilly. As long as you don't do just do short low speed journeys, then the SD is a great choice. Let us know if you need any pointers.

Is 10 miles the minimum to avoid DPF issues?

It's more about getting the oil up to 90C operating temperature. 10 miles on a derestricted road should do it easily on a summer's day. But 10 miles in the city in winter probably wouldn't.

My daily commute is 5 miles each way, temp does get up to 90c. I don't take the Macan every day but it does get used for this journey. Do longer trips at the weekends / holidays. No DPF issues so far!
