Hi All
New to the forum and new to Porsche
I placed my order for a Macan S last month. I’m still awaiting allocation but have been told delivery should be October. Here is my current spec:
https://configurator.porsche.com/porsche-code/PRYTRS24
I prioritised an S over loads of extras so I’m kinda at my limit on what I want to spend (especially with recent price increase!) however I’ve noticed a lot of love for the sport chrono package on this forum so tempted to add that.
I’d also be interested to hear peoples thoughts on the sports steering wheel over the standard?
Any other thoughts appreciated!
Ordered my first Porsche!
I wonder why the wheels are showing 19” rims even though you have the standard S wheels ticked? Is the configurator glitching?

Your spec and mine don't have a huge amount in common, S excepted, but each to his own, however, I now have the sports wheel after 3.5 years with the standard, I don't notice the difference. Having the mode dial to hand without having to take eyes from the road is a definite improvement though.

I’d drop the GT steering wheel and porsche crests on the headrests and spec sport chrono instead. An absolute must on the S and GTS models imo if you want to make full use of the V6. I use the dial to switch driving modes every single time I drive my S, and use sports+ mode often for fun spirited driving. Worth it for the thrill of launch control too, even if you only ever do it once. But that’s just me…

I agree with dropping the GT steering wheel. The standard wheel is the same as that in a 911 and feels great. I also would be without SC mode switch.
It’s a very personal decision but if my budget was constrained I’d also find a cheaper paint colour and use that to add some further colour to the black plastic areas of the exterior. It definitely gives the car more road presence especially with the light/bright colours.

Agree, also if you really want Porsche crests go for front only, have you seen crayon on the road? It looks very beige to me.Skyway wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 11:37 pm I agree with dropping the GT steering wheel. The standard wheel is the same as that in a 911 and feels great. I tested both steering wheels and opted for the standard one which works for me….
If it were me I would opt for the spare wheel (you’ll get more than you paid for it if you don’t like it) and the speed limit recognition sensor…. Otherwise brilliant choices
I too would drop the crayon. Plain white is nice and would allow SC. Personally, on light coloured cars, I dislike the black side blades and would go colour coded. I have the GT steering wheel. To be honest it’s very nice but not a deal breaker.
Eventually received March 2023.

The configurator doesn’t work properly on my older iPad, but it’s ok on my newer one... Maybe to do with software version on your device, Jon?
