I now have zero interest in seeing your Macan with a lorry engine but pics of those 911s are essential.

Well I owned a diesel Macan before the GTS and it is a very good car. It’s an SUV at the end of the day and well suited to the derv engine.
Enjoy the car Ian, I’m sure it will be fantastic.

Completely agree. Had mine for 3 years and it was bullet proof.

Wishing you many happy miles with your SD Highfield.

Thanks for the replies and in particular the reference to my previous cars and 'why a Macan Diesel' ... pretty simple in that I have a recurring 'back niggle' that means I wanted to go for an SUV 'type' and wanted to return to Porsche. I had discounted the SQ5, AMG C43, RR Sport etc. and the Cayenne whilst lovely, I felt too big for the two of us to need ..... so I decided on the Macan and my heart (being a petrol head) immediately wanted a Turbo or GTS. However, my head was saying a Diesel as I'd read about the great torque curve and the power being 'more than enough' .... I'm very used to what powerful cars can do, but on UK Roads you just don't need it in a regular use car; so i opted for the S Diesel. Time will tell if that is right for me.

However, I haven't given up on the more traditional car seating position, as we also own #31 of 500 Clio Trophy 182, without doubt the best hot hatch (just see all the press and forums) and great fun to use on A/B roads.

If the recurring back niggle gets sorted, then a 991 etc. would not be off the cards.

To finish up this thread I collected the car today. It is fabulous. It shone in its new GTechnic Ceramic Coating.

I cannot thank OPC Solihull enough in making the whole buying experience a pleasure.

They collected me in the Taycan this morning, and after completing the paperwork and handover, I drove home one happy customer.

They even did the big reveal from under the black cloth :-)
