Just helps to diagnose whether it's upstream of transmission or downstream - I've read a few reports about driveshaft bearing supports failing for example.

Ditto, I’ve just joined forum today, picked up a 2017 Macan s and experienced the same vibrations you’ve described. I’m letting the dealer know tomorrow, I unfortunately have an oil level issue too. Im sure this is a wheel balancing problem but I’m no expert in that field. If the dealer can’t sort it out I’ll be taking it to a wheel alignment and balancing specialist nearby. Hope you get it sorted and let me know the outcome and obviously I’ll share any feedback my end with you. Good luck!

I recently purchased a 2017 Macan S with approximately 70,000 kilometers on it. I'm quite satisfied with its performance, especially during highway drives. After covering about 500 kilometers, I came across a suggestion to reset the PDK to fine-tune the transmission according to my driving preferences.

Following the provided instructions, I reset the PDK. Initially, I noticed a significant improvement in gear shifts, which was a positive outcome. However, I also observed a concerning issue while cruising at speeds between 120-130 km/h on the highway - there's a noticeable vibration felt throughout the car, particularly in the steering wheel.

Before the reset, the ride was smooth and quiet, but now it feels more erratic with vibrations. I'm unsure if this is directly related to the reset procedure, but the timing seems to suggest a correlation.

I'd appreciate your insights or suggestions on this matter.

It seems unlikely that the PDK reset has caused this. Perhaps you have lost a wheel balance weight? or hit a pot hole and buckeld a wheel? I t would be worth going to a tyre depot to at at least eliminate these potential causes.

Thank you. That's my plan for tomorrow. I'm feeling a bit anxious since it's my first week with the car. I'm hoping the issue lies with the PDK reset rather than something more serious like the transfer box, which I've heard can be problematic in this model.

On another note, something interesting to share with everyone here: I consulted with my mechanic, who specializes in AUDI. He advised me to perform the PDK reset due to the recent driver changes. He mentioned that ideally, the car should be on a ramp with the wheels free, in neutral gear, without the handbrake engaged, and with the engine and oils at normal temperature. He assured me not to worry too much and mentioned that in the worst-case scenario, the car should recalibrate itself after around 500km of driving.

I'm hopeful this is the case and that I won't need to make the 4-hour trek to the Porsche specialist workshop.

In the end, it turned out that the issue was with wheel balancing. After also checking the alignment, which was beyond acceptable limits as I suspected during my first drive and confirmed after the inspection, I visited the Porsche technical center for a diagnostic and technical check. The only problem found was a passive sensor for adjusting the headlight height, which I promptly corrected. No faults were detected in the PDK, and no calibration was needed. Running on 98 or 100 octane gasoline instead of the 95 I had been using has made a significant difference, and now the car runs smoothly, alleviating all previous concerns. I will follow the forum anyway as it was my first place I had a feedback after my question.
