The level of commitment, application and pride that we witnessed on that production line (or not!) and I wouldn't be surprised if that car had come out of there!!
I did the same on a visit to Ford at Hailwood, Liverpool.

Was not impressed at all by the dumb ass attitude of the workers, pig ignorant is the only way to describe them as we were escorted around the production line a wave of hammering and banging followed us around.

Back in the quiet of the meeting room the people escorted us had no answer to the question of why their behaviour was what it was, we certainly all stated if that was the attitude of the workers we all were very unlikely to buy a Halewood built Ford.

Yep, same.
We were in a group of about 10 and included a couple of managers and directors. As we were escorted round following the guide, all you could hear were sheep noises!
Pretty funny looking back but terrible attitude. I also recall a guy spot welding seemingly anywhere would do, while he didn't take his eyes off his Sun newspaper. Another guy with a polisher who's job was to inspect for blemishes and polish them out, just ran his 'mop' for a few seconds over a small patch of boot lid without looking. He did the same patch on every car lol. Shocking!
Still, kept us busy with loads of warranty work :)
