Hello all. Since day 1 (12 months now) my Macan's brakes have been screeching at low speed irrespective of how long I've driven the car for. It's currently being serviced and Porsche say it's a common issue and they can't resolve it. Anyone have this issue?

Welcome!
Have you tried multiple stabs at hard braking (where safe to do from) from say 50-60mph down to 10-20mph?

Try a few hard heat cycles...take it up to 50 -60 mph and brake hard down to 10mph (obviously check its safe and there's no-one behind )
Repeat 4 or 5 times and this should resolve the issue. Worked for me on my first SD (not had the same problem on the GTS)

Hi Patito
Yes I have the same problem. The OPC said I have stab on the breaks as the members have already mentioned. It hasn't worked for me yet but been assured it will.

Thanks for the reply. What is stab on the brakes and what is the step you have tried? Do you mind directing me to the thread where members have discussed this. I am new to the forum and not to au fait re how to navigate it Patito_salvaje 2017-01-07 20:23:13
Just take the car out on the open road, get up to 60 ish and brake hard and continuously down to 10 mph 4 or 5 times with a short break in between each. This will heat the discs and pads up progressively and clear any deposits off the discs.

I was reading about warped discs a while back and the advice was that it is nearly impossible to warp discs from normal road use. Given that your discs were replaced relatively recently, it is possible that there was dirt/grit between the mounting faces of the new discs and the hubs, thus creating a non-flush mounting that gives very similar symptoms to warped discs. Google it.
It would be worth getting a second opinion, either from another Porsche dealer or a good independent specialist.
