Hi all
Collected my Macan SD from Nottingham on Friday. Only managed to do 70 miles so far as we moved into new home on Wednesday but I am impressed.
Spec. includes air suspension,PASM,Bi-Xenon,20" Sport wheels,Bose and many others but we are particularly pleased with the two tone Luxor upholstery package which we had not been able to see prior to ordering.
Insurance seems to be an issue as my current insurer provides replacement to original spec for the first year but insists on the tracker being activated and apart from the cost I do not like the idea of having to carry the tacker fob at all times. Considered cancelling insurance and going with another but the first one I tried, Admiral, was more than twice the cost of my current insurer AIB at £1063pa.
It will be another week before I get around to some serious driving but something to look forward to whilst putting up curtain poles, building wardrobes and organising all the junk in the garage.

Welcome and congratulations - quite a week with a new house and car!

When you have time, we all love photos (of cars not curtain poles!)

Welcome. Glad you are enjoying your new car. I stuck with Admiral on changing from a 330d because the premium only increased by the equivalent of about £150 a year to £400. £350 excess, car on drive, no tracker. Helps being a fifty-something. Others here are keen on NFU might be worth giving them a try though I gather the theft excess is £1600 if you don't have a garage.

Welcome, Plato! 👍 (You're not the famous motor racing Plato, are you?). 🏁

Congrats on the new Macan. As well as NFU (if they cover your area) you could try Aviva, as they were competitive when I insured my Macan last year.

Hi Plato, good to see another Nottingham addition, like has been said try NFU, I was with Admiral but changed as I think many have on this forum, you will love the SD, I had two petrols prior to my SD but circumstances change, despite the anti Diesel brigade I am more than happy, put some pics on site and I will keep an eye out for you, who did you deal with at Nottingham

Regards

Welcome Plato, good to see another SD owner join our ranks.

Insurance wise I use LV and they do not require a tracker and include GAP insurance. For us Admiral is great for our SEAT Leon FR, but not so good for the Macan.

Looks like your having a busy time, enjoy your new car, it gets better as you get to know its considerable capabilities.

Curtain poles? In a Macan? Surely not!
