+1. I too like the silver rim around the gloss black Sport Classic (as I had on my Macan) and I think it has a hint of classic Porsche heritage about it...

Compared to most BMWs the ride will be a great improvement. Classics a doddle to keep clean, even inner rim not an issue. It looks a completely different car with 21s filling the arches properly.
As a soul sensitive to excessive noise, on a test drive around Silverstone the 21's (Pirellis I think on Classics) were so noisy we cut the drive short and arranged to have them replaced by new 19's, plus a price reduction. However, the ride on 21's is not a concern, I'll re-evaluate the noise aspect nearer the time. I see that Michelin quote the same noise level - 71db - for both 19's and 21's, so perhaps it was the road surface. I will certainly have 21" Classics in Platinum (and Air) on Macan No 3, probably VG again. Spook posted a photo of this combination a few days ago in the 'Clean VG GTS' thread in the Main Macan Chat section. I won't add it here without his permission, but have a look. As we all know, colour combination is a personal thing but this VG/Platinum look is pleasing to my eyes.

We'd have to check with JayOne (Justin) as these pics were immediately after he did the Gtechniq detailing. 😎

I don't consider myself ultra sensitive but I am very happy I went with 20" even though the car would definitely look better on grey 21s. As far as I can tell the 21s are just for looks since I can discern no difference in grip or handling at sane road speeds. The 20s are definitely less choppy on broken surfaces compared the demo cars I drove on 21s and I'd wager they are quieter too. But I wouldn't suggest for a moment that anyone who ordered 21s had made the wrong choice.

Probably an obvious answer to some, but, if you have your wheels painted e.g. If i changed my 20" Sport Design wheels to satin platinum similar to this pic, do they spray the wheel centres or do you just buy a whole new set?

Hi Hawkeye. I got a quote to get my silver 911 wheels (same design as in your pic) re-done in satin Platinum. It was just over £400 or so for all four wheels. I asked about painting the wheel centres, so they matched the new wheel colour, and there was an extra charge, but very modest. Just a few £s per wheel from memory. Much cheaper than buying a new set of wheel centres from Porsche.

£400 sounds pretty reasonable. I really like the satin platinum, so could be an idea for a bit of a refresh at some point.

Agreed. An inexpensive way to change the look of the car quite effectively! :)
