SD fuel consumption.
Mine was poor, based on actual fuel put into the tank mine only achieved 33mpg.
As Goron eluded the delivery plateaus, and for me plateaus badly.
Plant right foot at 70 and zilch happens, do the same in a Beamer 35D and it flies.
The SD engine was been detuned on purpose by Porsche to help achieve fuel consumption compliance yeah big deal when they screw with the software.
The SD is a plodder, its not bad at what it does but its a plodder.
Nowhere near as much fun to drive as a six pot petrol.

...well......not really Col eh?
Maybe yours was broken, but my SD would pull from 70 mph up to my chicken-out speeds well into 3 digits....

+1. It's fast and in SPORT mode even more so IMO. 0-60 mph clocked at 5.8 seconds in a recent magazine test

Maybe Col is just convincing himself that he did the right thing by swapping the SD for the Turbo!

Just did not like the way the SD ran out of steam, like falling off a cliff.
The Cr4p mpg I achieved did not help.
A Macan is a Porsche not a tractor, so it should have a decent engine and the SDs just is not decent in the form presented.

For me, the SD has more power than I can usefully make the most of for the roads I drive. It’s easy to find yourself in excess of the speed limit just by how easily it gathers speed. I also think that cars seem to have their own natural cruising speed and in the Macan, it’s unhelpfully above 70.
The one thing that makes it seem less sporty to me is simply that it revs out at 4500 rpm which takes away some of the sporty driving experience.

I wanted to love the petrol over the diesel but the magic didn't really happen. Then I looked at the mpg and I didn't want to love it anymore. Perhaps if I had a big wad to blow I might go a Turbo but there are lots of other priorities in life needing addressing first.
Macan SD Vocano Grey. LEDs, Pano Roof, PSE, Sports Chrono, PASM, Sports Design Mirrors, 21" Sports Classics in Black, lots of other extras.

The SD is a great car. I just wish I had more opportunity to drive mine. Trip to Kent tomorrow though. I’m sure my wife will enjoy Sport plus & launch control!! [emoji16]

I don't know what roads he drives on or what sort of driver he is but listening to him he must be the Stig driving on very straight open roads and over the speed limit most of the time.....I don't thinks so..
