Driving sympathetically should not just be for "running in" either.

The idea (probably put about by people that used to be "engineers") that you have to be super careful during "running in" then the day after you can do what you like, is quiet amusing :)

Previously a 2014 Macan Turbo.

Just make sure you don't run it in like this guy did ;). Some people should just be banned from owning a car...

Slightly obsessive here so i'd read the manual before the car arrived, thus ran it in gently trying to keep below 4k rpm and certainly will never go flat out on cold oil.
Working up to not worrying about that too much but in reality you can't use full power for many seconds at a time; it's very easy to accidentally reach 71mph!

My SE advised not to run at constant speeds for the first 1000 or so (which was difficult to do as the first drive was 50 miles along a dual carriageway home! He advised using different gears if using a constant speed. I kept well below 3000 rpm for the first 500 then up to 4000 for the next.

...in that case...rag the @rse off it from day one! Its under warranty for your life with the car (unless if course, you have any sympathy for the second owner😉)
Whoa there Paul, I might be the 2nd owner in 18 months time. Although the PEC cars are driven hard all day, every day, from new and perhaps sold on used cars in the network?

Absolutely right - I don’t think I’d be as comfortable buying a 6 month old, 10 000 mile “RG” plate “ ex demo” from Silverstone.....(all other factors being equal)

Owners manual really doesn’t dwell too much on running period.

On a separate note and being more controversial I honestly don’t feel it is that quick a car. I know it is nearly 2 tonnes and is 440 bhp but the chassis could handle more shove in the back for sure!

Definitely don’t get the shove through the back of the seat that the m5 had.

Which M5 did you have?

I don't think the Macan is supposed to be any slower than the V8, I remember thinking the stats suspicious as the m5 has 100HP more and must be lighter?
