Wasn't planning on this for a couple of years! But a beautiful example turned up with everything! (Agate & Pebble; Air Suspension; Pano Roof...)

Nephews laughing at me "typical of you: having a midlife crisis and buying a Porsche and a diesel"

This lead to other expenditure. A switch from Android to iPhone, adding a second SIM to my mobile package etc (cheapest to switch to a "family Package" me and my Macan! So I've got PCM connect working...not sure how much data Google Earth uses but loving destination by Google search. All that effort in generating personal POIs & importing them a thing of the past.

So I'm left with the mystery that is car connect. Can anyone here tell me how to apply to Porsche for them to recognise a new user of a car?

Colin

PS or should that be Porsche PS does anyone else think that starting all item descriptions with Porsche leaves the manual a little P heavy? 😁

Great news about your new Porsche. Some photos would be great. :)

Someone else will no doubt assist with car connect.

Welcome to the forum Col M!

When we bought our pre-owned Macan, the Porsche Connect was enabled by the Porsche Reading from whom we bought the car, this was in August 2017, so not sure if things have changed since then. You will need a pairing code to enter on the PCM in your Macan, to log in to use the Porsche Connect Services (the applications).

So I would say that you need to contact the dealer you bought the car from, or alternatively try calling the Porsche Connect on their helpline:
0808 1685219

https://connect-portal.porsche.com/comm ... GB/contact

Enjoy the lovely car! :-)

Probably because I didn't purchase from a dealer?

Welcome.

Congrats, love the interior, it with platinum paintwork looks stunning.

You will need also to get an access code to the myporsche web portal.

This is for registered Porsche owners and is different from the connect code.

I would also go to the nearest OPC and see what updates if any are outstanding on your new motor, do be careful about the updates as the SD engine update has given some members here problems, other PCM updates are bug related and also satnav orientated.

Do also read the thread on the DPF issues that some owners of an SD has and ensure you drive accordingly to avoid problems.

Thanks I’ll try the number next week. Enough to get used to already, but does seem best way to ensure mapping is up to date
