Looks lovely!

I considered the quiet glass but didn't go for it.

Would be interesting to know how much difference it makes if you can turn the Bose down for a minute!

Hi Tim (and Co.),

It's around 30-40% quieter than the regular glass I'd estimate - I'm hard pushed to hear much (normal traffic noise) at all after "startup", unless a windows/roof is open.

My hope is it'll pay dividends in the summer as it's also heat-reflecting: I like to run with the A/C off if I can (so pano-roof and vent. seats ;) ) However, I do know that some running of the A/C is critical to keep the compressor bearing in good health ...

Interestingly the glass is a single pane - not doubled-glazed as I thought it might be, but it works !

BTW, what fuel economy (not!) are you seeing on yours?

Cheers, Si.

Interesting, maybe I should have ticked that box.

I've always tried to run AC systems at least once a month, it used to be to keep the seals lubricated but I don't know if that still applies.

I haven't done many long journeys yet and am just under 20mpg, not bad for pottering around. I do tend to be heavy footed when I see a
clear straight or a clear overtaking spot. Don't reckon we'll see much over the high 20s at best.

Main problem at the moment is we both love driving it so our mileage is higher and the old cars are not getting much use so might sell them.

I hear 'ya!

My figures run from 21.5 to 27.5 - but she's still tight so there maybe (hopefully!) some improvement ahead.

My average is about 24.5 so far on "mixed" runs.

FWIW I'm based in Surrey and I always wave to fellow Porsche drivers in case you spot me :)

I'm happy to see anything over 20mpg. On a long run, driving like Miss Daisy I can get it up to the high twenties, but that doesn't last long. The onboard computer is optimistic. Real mpg for mine here http://www.fuelly.com/car/porsche/macan ... 789/641398

For better or for worse, that looks to be about par for petrol Macans (maybe excepting the 2l flavour) in general as a true figure rather than indicated, judging from Fuelly.

Notwithstanding the fact that it's a two tonne high performance barge it's not really good enough these days and I hope it's something that Porsche improves on the facelift. And before someone pops up and says that fuel is but a small proportion of the cost of ownership yes I did know what it would cost me in fuel before I bought it. :)

Lovely car. Looks great in the pics. Please post some interior pics too. I haven't seen a beige/black two tone with brown seatbelt combo before. Interested to see what it looks like.
