Yeah, I agree. But you just know that in 10 years, someone playing a long game will have kept one on a plinth and be offering it for stupid money with 8 miles on the clock.

Spoke to a guy at a PCGB meet yesterday, who's thinking of buying a black 2016 GT4 with 13 miles on the clock, for £95k...

Talking about costs of cars. If I do a "webuyanycar.com" valuation on this turbo Macan, it comes back as £52k as the offer price. Now, bearing in mind I'm being asked to pay 73K.. that seems an awful lot of money for the extra's. Is that right??

Depends on the spec. I get hacked off with the fact that journalists always call it a £65k car. It's not. No GT4, not even a poverty spec car ever left an OPC without a tick box checked. They are list at £70-75k at least and the well optioned cars around £75-£85k spec wise. Depending on where the spec sits within that continuum and if it has full PPF, £95k is about £5k in overs. I would consider that fair compensation for the torment of having a car like that in the garage and not driving it for fear of destroying its value. It will probably have oval tyres.

991.1 GT3s are going to require at least another £30k to get into the ball park of one at reasonable mileage and now 991.2 GT3s are competing with 991.1 GT3 RS cars!

If you want to index anything, use Parkers or something of that nature.

You can spec the car on the configurator and see the value of the options. Dealers on a car of that level will be making £4-£8k I would suggest.

WBAC value cars on the base price alone, no allowance for options. Best bet is to look on the 'Porsche Approved' listings by the OPC's, find one with similar spec and take 7k off for dealer margins. Porsches are notoriously difficult for the WBAC etc algorithms to deal with as they're all heavily optioned so base price means very little.

"Cheapest" 991.1 GT3 is currently £111k. At an OPC. 18,599 miles. 2014. No PCCBs or roll cage etc. :geek:

But don't be expecting a dealer to give you much money for your extras at resale time. That's where WBAC can become too much of a reality.
