I hope that lot was copy & pasted, not re-typed by hand from memory! ;) :)
.
Its embedded in what is left of my grey matter.

My fingers are a blur typing that lot out again.

The dealer applied coatings are a scam!

As mentioned, they are not applied properly and are essentially just a commission rich add on for the salesman.
They’ll sometimes even add it to the invoice by discounting the car, if you’re adamant you won’t pay for it!
They then say they gave it to you for free!

They’ll not give you another £799 off the price, but they’ll short change their employer if it means a coatings commission for them.

I’ve witnessed this twice. The job should take a full day to do properly, but the dealers allocate 90mins tops :(

If you want to get the car coated, then get it the hell out of the dealer before they mess with the paint at all.

I'd ask the SE to provide you with the specific EU regulation to which he is referring in relation to the paintwork.

This is the truth ^
I like ceramic coatings for an easy clean, but I would much rather get it done by a specialist rather than as a quick sales add-on. Porsche dealerships are just as disappointing as any other car dealers when it comes to sales tactics. Puts me off buying at all to be honest.
