Personal view - I’ve done 1100 miles in a long weekend twice now (Bristol - Spa - Bristol) with no ill effects in my GTS with “standard” sports seats....we’re all different shapes and sizes!

Agree - did a 508 mile return trip to York in great comfort with the standard 8-way seats in my S. Both of us said that we would have had to stop more "to stretch our legs" if using our previous E-class.

We are perfectly comfortable in the bucket seats of my 435i (diff riding position, harder suspension) up to ~300 miles per day... however, on longer drives my wife is taking strain. Hence, I might be over-indexing on comfort side.

Co-incidentally, in Mrs P’s previous 428 convertible we came up from Beziers to Blois last summer and I suffered a bit behind my legs - I guess a slightly more layed out driving position puts different strains on different parts of the body.

The science says that our bodies undergo changes throughout a day, getting shorter, for example, so a adjustment is necessary to compensate. And any physio will tell you that regular small changes are essential. So the more options you have, the better! 🤓

Two years ago I took 435i and we drove 900 miles with the Mrs in one day (Cape Town to Johannesburg - good road, perfect weather, few stops...), she lost interest in long drives ever since [emoji15] I loved every second of it [emoji41]

My wife & I did Tuscany to Essex in one go some years ago in a 7-series. About 1000 miles, wonderful trip!

Way, way back I did Rochdale to Rosas (Costa Brava) in one hit in a Hillman Imp. I took a stopover on the way back! (Although I did detour via Andorra!)

Distances do increase with age....we came up from Menton to Chalons en Champagne (“only” 10 hours) in September in Mrs P’s TT......nearly killed me.....😂😂
