Hi guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I live in India and I've been contemplating buying a Macan for a while now ~ after reading various posts on this forum. Well, I've finally succumbed to the urge and picked up a 2018 R4 Macan White with the base black interiors. One of my closest Porsche Dealers had a pre-confugured car ready to be picked up with some add-ons:
1. PCM without Navigation
2. Auto Dimming Mirrors
3. 75L Fuel Tank
4. Roll-up blinds on rear windows
5. Air suspension with PASM
6. Lane Departure Warning
7. 3 Zone AC
8. Bi-Xenon with PDLS
9. Park Assist F/R with Rear Camera
10. Panoramic Roof System
11. Sport Chrono Package w/ Launch Control

Cars are priced ridiculously in India with high import duties and local taxes. The base Macan costs 78 Lakhs INR (86,000 GBP), Annual Insurance at 2200 GBP, extras at 19,000 GBP and of course lifetime road tax at 16,000 GBP totaling 112 Lakhs INR (123,200 GBP) Anyway can't complain about that because that's the case with any brand.

I have taken delivery this week and my family is really excited on the purchase. I want to do a few mods on the car including upgrading to 21" Turbo wheels, a Sport Exhaust, etc in the coming months.

I've been so fascinated by Porsche that I got my 2014 W212 E350 painted Chalk :)

Thanks a lot everyone and will keep all posted with pics with any updates and queries.

Cheers!

Rajiv.

Welcome.

Good grief what a stitch up with costs!

£2200 per year Insurance, now that I can understand after seeing what Indian driving standards are like on many of our TV programmes.

You did well with the pre configged Macan, all the basics plus a few other nice to haves.

Congrats Rajiv, great to see Macans and other Porsche on the road in India; I travel to Bangalore a lot and see a few on the roads there. Hope you went for the quadruple horn option! Lovely colour on the Merc too.

Congratulations Rajiv. Tax costs and insurance costs are unbelievable in India.

Do you get free petrol to make up for it :D
