I wonder why Crayon is so much more expensive than other paints? At the 911 launch recently there was a lovely 718 in crayon that I really liked. But from memory it was something like a £1600 option? Really? How can a few litres of paint cost £1,600 - MORE - than the standard paint?

It’s all marketing & profit maximisation from Porsche.

The actual difference in cost to Porsche of standard/flat paint, metallic paint, ‘special paint’ and PTS paint will be minimal.

In fact, some colours move between categories. GT Silver has moved between ‘special paint’ in the past and standard metallic paint. Before the face lift you would have paid more to have your Macan painted in Miami Blue, and so on...
