Hi all,

Looking to buy a used 2014 Macan Turbo from a dealer. Are there questions I should be asking in this regard (other than seeing service history and spec).

It has 40, 000 miles and circa 34k.

Thanks all,

Thanks. The dealer will only offer a one year warranty as apparently don’t do a 111 check in the Channel Islands (although say it passed their inspection) - have you heard of that before?

Porsche dealership?

Not heard of the Channel Islands running a different approved scheme from mainland UK?

that doesn't sound like an OPC - all offer 2 years on approved used

read the warranty small print, I would want a proper Porsche one
2017 - Macan Turbo, with most of the toys (sold)
2008 - manual 997.1 Turbo (sold)

There is an official Porsche dealer on Jersey.

http://www.porschejersey.co.uk/

but unusually no mention of Porsche approved pre-owned cars on their website and the UK approved used car locator presently shows no used cars against Porche Jersey centre

The dealership is called Jackson’s Guernsey. Thanks for all your advice so far.

Also is buying a 2014 turbo model with 40,000 a risk in terms of depreciation if ever come to resell or issues once the one year warranty expires? Maybe better to finance a newer model.

The dealer also said this “The reason the Porsche never has a 111 point check is because The Channel Islands are not recognised under the Porsche UK flag and therefore you cannot get an Approved Warranty on any model here.“

Perhaps you could buy one from an OPC in mainland GB with the 2 yr extended warranty etc. More choice too.

40 000 miles...? In Guernsey......? How.....?!😂

(and Jackson’s are an OK multi-franchise dealership in my past experience)
