Hi All

Having sold a 987.2 Boxster to buy a Cayenne Diesel we are now on the look out for a Petrol Macan.

I quite like the look of the 4 Point DRL’s. Are these only available with LED headlights and PDLS+?

Most of the cars I’m looking at are Bi-Xenon with PDLS

I’m aware of the transfer box issue, but as car will be from OPC then it’s not a major concern. Anything else to look for?

Cheers

Tony

My 2015 SD has Bi-Xenon PDLS (not PDLS+) and has 4 point DRLs.

Agree, you will get 4 point DRL with either Bi-Xenon or LED. Both of these have PDLS as standard with PDLS+ an optional extra.

The halogen’s don’t have the 4 point DRL (and generally don’t look as modern IMO)

Thanks. That was my understanding, but the dealer says no!

I’ve asked for a picture with DRL’s on as I don’t want the DRL that is just a ‘strip’ separate to the main headlamp unit like I had on my 2014 Cayenne

You would think that a dealer could easily check this sort of information instead of just guessing.

The "strip" DRL was a Cayenne feature, now discontinued. For Macans fitted with halogen lights, the DRL is the "inner" set of headlights. On cars fitted with bi-xenon or LED, the inner headlights are dummies.

Welcome, Tony! I think you'll find far more knowledge on here, compared to the average sales exec/adviser at an OPC. ;)

Thanks again chaps

I asked the dealer to send me a picture with the DRL’s on and sure enough it has the 4 point ones. My only compromise is going to be the lack of Apple Car Play which we are both big fans of (unless of course I mod the PCM)

If it's Waze that you're after then there's a good compromise discussed here: https://www.macanforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=7560&#p157891

I make use of the 'Play as Bluetooth Phone Call' option, and have the phone mounted on a Proclip mount just to the left of the PDK lever in case I miss the audio and need to glance at the screen:
