Hi all. Just picked up my first Porsche at the weekend and so far really enjoying it. Macan S D just under 3 year's old with a great spec, everything I would have chosen if buying from new and a few I wouldn't but actually really like. Heating steering wheel is one, so nice in this cold weather.

Only odd thing so far was I rang my local OPC to put and extended warranty on it as normal 3 years runs out in 6 weeks and they said I have to wait until I have owned it 90 days before they would check it and put the new warranty on. Surprised they wouldn't do it from when 3 year's old?? Image

Thanks, I'd seen some previously with black window trims and black wheels and I do wonder about going in that direction. But not rushing, ;)

Great looking car, very similar to mine. No idea why the OPC wants to wait 90 days before inspecting the car and extending the warranty. I would want it checked before the existing warranty expires so if there are any issues they can be rectified.

That was exactly what I thought, I bought it from outside the Porsche network, but as it was less than 3 years old was expecting to be able to just extend the existing warranty. Not a massive issue, just odd. I've got other cars with warranty and they were just done immediately no problems.

Not sure about black car, black trim and black wheels. I like the contrast of the silver wheels & window trim against the black bodywork. :)

Yes, it's very much a Marmite thing. My daughter was a you must do it. But I'm with you a bit. Feels to over the top, hence living with it for it as is for a while. But thanks for the comments back, it's very useful to get other opinions.

Hi, and welcome.

As you didn’t buy the car from an OPC there is a 90 day period before you can buy a standalone warranty from Porsche. This will also be subject to the 111 point check. It would be worth checking that the car has four N0 rated tyres as that’s often a failure point if they are outside the network. And no hard wired electrical accessories.

Thanks for confirmation Charles, it's got full service from the original dealer which is 2hrs up the road from me at Edingburgh, I'm Newcastle and at 21,000 miles is still on original tyres. But really good point about electrical accessories as I was wanting to put a towbar on it. So need to give that one some thought.

Plus one, I think that looks far better than an all black look. I am particularly fond of the silver wheel.
