NFU are pretty good but not all insurance companies are. Make sure if they offer new for old that they don't stipulate that a replacement car has to be readily available, obviously with the lead times on the Macan they may have a get out clause. NFU will pay out what you paid for the car if a car if a replacement is not readily available, others only pay market value. Even with NFU you could loose out slightly if there have been a few prices increases.Little lofty 2016-03-07 13:01:10
We were with NFU for a few years (up to 2010) when they suddenly had a massive price hike of over 40%.
Our TTS roadster was going up to over £1K+ with no changes to our zero points / protected / garaged etc policy. Aviva was half the price and we have stayed with them since, NFU may be the "gold star" insurer but boy you don't have to pay to be with them.
However if you notice ALA gap insurance will pay back to the the current OTR price and i agree with Little Lofty that new for old with insurers will only pay the price you bought the car at (1st year with some only) and In my case there was be 3 price increases since I have placed my deposit.

How much did you pay for tyre and alloy insurance?<div ="grammarly-disable-indicator">

luckily my kerbed wheel and new tyre worked out as I hoped. Just drove in swop to my winter set. Meanwhile my OPC sorted everything through the insurance with them and no excess to pay (347£ bill) and not a paper sighned and excess waived well happyThats correct goron59 ...my PORSCHE diamond cut wheel and tyre protection is through mapfire/Abraxas in Bristol but at least we drive in and the OPC will do the rest (hopefully) they could do with getting something right..Hope, a wonderful thing! For me, I asked my OPC directly about how these things are handled, and basically, you're on your own. If you have a claim, you call the number on the policy documents. Repairs can be done by anybody approved by the terms of the policy schedule.Honestly, I'm not being weird here, just trying to help people avoid an expensive decision because they think somehow the Porsche-offered policy is better. If it happens to be cheaper or at least reasonable, than absolutely go for it.For me and many others, it was frankly taking the piss.I guess it's a bit like the discussion in another thread about never letting your dealer wash your car. Depends entirely on the quality of the person doing it, I think.

I took out GAP and scratch insurance through ALA for my first Macan and switched it today for my GTS which I pick up on Saturday. I got full credit for the unused part of the original insurance which I thought was good value and worth a mention

Hi All
Not long now until my Macan finally arrives. So excited! I just called the salesman at Porsche Mid Sussex to confirm everything is still on track and thankfully all is good. I then brought up GAP insurance plus cover for the wheels and scratches/dents. He explained that Mid Sussex only do GAP and nothing else. I was surprised so wanted to ask if your Porsche dealer has done this for you? If so, please let me know which one as I'll call them to see if they will cover mine even thought I've not bought the car from them.
I could go down the ALA route but am sure I've read the some of you have been given just as good deals directly from Porsche. I also do not think ALA will protect my 21" 911 Turbo wheels.......
Many thanks
