Looking to buy another Macan (17 plate) but torn between a GTS and an S (3ltr). Aside from the looks what are members opinions on both and what would you consider to be the must have options

Answer this.. If you were in the market for a 911 would you be asking the same question? 🤔

You’re unlikely to get a straight answer tbh. The GTS frat boys will always tell you to get a GTS; the middle of the road S guys will tell you the S is the more sensible option ( and in the 2022MY has the same engine as the previous GTS anyway) and the base Macan drivers will say that they get all they want from a 4cyl engine.

All the models look pretty much identical and have the same fixtures and fittings ( or can ). The Gen 2 GtS and S are possibly wider apart than the Gen 3 GtS and S in terms of performance. The GTS probably has a better resale value. Its also depends on what has been fitted to the cars you are looking at.

My suggestion would be try both and see which fits you life and driving style ( and wallet ) the best and ignore what anyone else tells you.

If you want a more sporty drive then the GTS, as you’ll spend lots of time finding a spec’d S to the same driving behaviour. But not everyone likes the bigger bolsters of the 18 way sports seats

Make a list of your "must have options" and buy the best Macan that meets your needs.

All Macans are great machines :D :D :D

Yes I was proving your point that it's all subjective to the person buying :)

There's no right answer here. If you're looking at 2017/2018 then your into first generation cars. In performance terms, the GTS will be better but finding the car with the right options is probably more important than knowing the performance statistics.

Whatever you choose, the Macan is a great car.
