I use SC every time I get in the car. Quick twist to sport and that's it. Bumpy roads or wanting a bit more comfort, individual it is. Everything sport but with softest suspension.

However, the pano roof I'm not so sure about. Yes it lets in more light which is good, but I've found using it a waste of time. If it's hot and you open it, the cabin is too hot, so you close it and stick the AC on. Cooler and you open it, then you hit national speed limits, and the buffering it terrible, so you shut it and stick the AC on.

£1600 to let a bit more light in. If I was speccing a new Macan today, I'd leave pano off.

My pano was about a £1000, not £1600. I often tilt my roof but also keep the AC running. It's not an either/or for me. But personally I think having the roof is without doubt a big item in the used car marker. There are some prestige traders that wont even take a Macan off your hands if it doesn't have it.

Jon. Is that what you found when you traded in your S? Some pretty good used prices atm. Don't think the T is holding up too well but my SE said he's finding Ts holding value better than Ss. But nothing is as good as a GTS for holding prices.
I eventually took £63k on mine having paid £69k originally. It was 18months old and 12k miles.
I might have got £66k privately (?) but it had finance attached and I was chipping in for another Porsche so was just easier. They have it up for £70k but I expect it to go for circa £68k maybe 🤔
OPC will always want their margin, and of course will be sticking on a two year warranty and most folks will only buy a car at this price from dealer…
Losing £6k in 18 months is fantastic TBH. Wasn't so long ago you'd lose 20-30% just driving out of the dealership.
Don't forget the £2k+ OTR cost on new cars which owners seem to dismiss when using their Manculator. I know part is for a RFL but it's still a cost to the 1st owner.

Yes I was happy with the numbers in the end but it’s worth pointing out I was buying a more expensive car from them
Ultimately, losing some money on a car is inevitable (non specials etc) but I could have done a George Best and spent it on booze, women and fags and then just wasted the rest… 😂

Actually, the other interesting thing is that my car today would be £78.5k and OPC have it up for £69,990 so a notional “discount” for depreciation. However, in reality they have it up for what they sold it for when I ordered it in Oct ‘21!!
On that basis, zero depreciation 😂😂

I happened to look at Dick Lovett Ltd accounts (this is just their Porsche empire) for year ended December 2022. On a TO of £255m, they made £12.8m after tax, or 5%.
So, on a £100k car, there's £5k to the bottom line. On a £1k service, there's £50 to the bottom line.
We all like the lovely showrooms, the free tea and coffee, the loan cars, the attentive staff, the EV charges, the videos of our cars being serviced....but by golly, it costs a lot!
