I'm reminded of the famous 'VIZ Top Tips', and the following letter:
'Save money on expensive personalised car number plates by simply changing your name to match your existing plate'. - from Mr. KVL 741Y

A lot of these companies are great at doing this, number is not available but we'll sell you another one at an inflated price !!

Try Regtransfers.co.uk. They have MA07CAN and if you are canny and quick you may bag it before another Macan enthuisast. It is a "relevant" plate and will only grow in value over time as Macan ownership grows. Look around at any Porsche or "brand" related RegNo and the value growth is broadly linear. Trick is to keep it simple, relevant and tasteful. After months of waiting for the car to arrive, agonising about options and spending air time discussing it wouldn't it be a shame to fit a bean can of a plate on your pride and joy!box718s2016-02-08 22:17:47

thanks -
its £3740. not that interested when technically, MA16 CAN was only £400.....to be honest , i am annoyed that newreg database is not up to date.

even after they told me, you can still buy it

Next year the UK is opening up the registration monopoly, so you can have what you want, and all these plates will become worthless.
Used to have 2016 Macan Turbo PHCKCL70
Previously a 2014 Macan Turbo.
Now a 2021 Tesla Model 3 LR

Haven't heard or read about this anywhere. Have you more info?
I received a letter from DVLA last year informing me that I would be notified about submitting a rebuilt classic that I own to an IVA test and the possibility that it could be reregistered on a category Q plate - OVER MY DEAD BODY!!!
This new (submission to IVA test) rule would cover ALL vehicles in the UK that enjoy "Historic" status (because of their age obviously) and unless the vehicle is "built from genuine period components even if from more than one vehicle, all over 25 years old and of the same specification as the original vehicle" then it stands the risk of being Q Plated! This new rule will aply to "Re-constructed Historic" and "Specials" which are basically rebuilt replicas mostly.

None of this would apply to the majority of us motorists seeking interesting registration numbers (valuable or not) for vehicles subject to standard MOT test and Road Fund Tax when applicable.
