I sold my first Macan to a private buyer via Autotrader and my previous Boxster to an independent via Pistonheads.

Good point will put on Pistonheads as well.

I wouldn't bother with either Autotrader or Pistonheads, predominantly time-wasters.

Put my previous car on to eBay after a month of no joy with AT or PH and within a week I had sold.

There has been some success on here, especially with AT, so worth a go.

I sold my Golf GTi many moons ago on Autotrader to the first guy who came to have a look.

Have to disagree. Got thousands more for my Boxster and first Macan by selling via Autotrader and Pistonheads

Go for it. I have always obtained top money for all my cars I have sold because mileage was low and condition like new. Even when over specced. Someone will always want it. Good luck.

A friend of mine just sold his 911 on AT for the same as what he paid for it 3 years ago....

Not sure that's correct Pegasus,

Have sold many cars through AT, the last two valued at 70k+ and 90k+.

Have sold 6 cars on AT all at substantially more than WBAC or trade in offers so it's my go to when selling privately. I definitely would not ignore it as a selling option.
