Hi all,
Regretably my first post in the forum is about selling my Macan but want to realise funds go a different direction with my cars.
I have owned since new, first registered late March 2017 so before the tax increase kicked-in.
She's a Volcano Grey Diesel S and extremely high specification including amongst other things, the 21" black wheels, pan roof, sports exhaust, PASM, sports plus, rear camera, electric towbar, etc. All options totalled £15,000.
I've rebuilt the car on Porsche's website and it would cost £62,268 new today and there's obviously the benefit of saving around £1,500 in the first few years on lower road tax compared to a brand new Macan.
Only done 5,000 miles and immaculate.
Would appreciate thoughts on what I should ask / expect to get?
Many thanks

Go on to Autotrader and create an advert (you may need to sign up to create an account first)
This will give you a suggested price based on the current market.

Or try this

https://www.capconnect.co.uk/ConsumerVa ... x?CH=PWRTZ

Or webuyanycar

Then take an average of the 3 answers!

Having said that, with such a high spec (£15K+ in options) you need to prepare yourself to be loosing a fair chunk☹️

Have you asked your supplying dealer whether they would buy it back?

My findings with two OPC's is they will be looking to offer you around 8K off what a similar spec Macan is currently selling for on the Porsche Approved website. This would also depend on their current stock levels.

The £8K includes any minor repairs they have to do, stone chips etc, the price sales have to pay the service department for inspections / services / any extended warranty (total around about £2.5K), mark up and haggle price from future buyer. So if a similar Macan ( spec & mileage) is currently being advertised at £59K IMO they would look to offer you £51K, not what you want to hear I know.

My Macan was graded A1 (7K miles 16 months old) and as nothing needed doing to it I got £4K off what it went on the forecourt for, which was more than I paid for it !!!

Agree with the info wrt OPC valuation.

Some trades who specialise in 'up market cars' might offer a couple of k more.

I've found selling privately at these kinds of prices quite difficult as I think people are (a) looking for finance and (b) the reassurance of buying from an organisation with legal obligations wrt the car.

Worth asking a couple of OPCs for sure depending on stock levels (you can check on the Porsche website how many SDs your local OPCs have in stock). If it's desirable you may get a pleasant surprise although with £15k in options I would certainly expect to be looking at £8-10k less than your purchase price. Specialist, independent, quality car dealers will usually be better than an OPC but not always.

Anyway good luck and report back how you get on.

Porsche Tonbridge write to me every month to say they’re looking for high quality stock asking if I want to sell my car. May be worth emailing them.

Webuyanycar will offer you what the auction price is. They will also offer you 10% less again when they see the car for any reason they can get away with ( in my opinion)!

That is certainly my opinion of we buy any car too although it probably varies area to area.

Not sure WBAC is much use for Porsches in general and nearly new Macans particularly.

Unlike most cars the extras on the car really do make a difference to the value on newish Porsches. WBAC doesn't let you identify the extras. You only need to look at used cars listed on Porsche web site to see this is true.

To illustrate my point about WBAC I recently (last week or so) sold my Turbo PP to an OPC. They gave me £18k more than the WBAC quote obtained a few minutes ago.

Some variance between OPC offers. £6k from best to worst so worth shopping around.

As above if you want to know what its worth to an OPC find a comparable car for sale at an OPC, look at the price and subtract about £8k.
