I sold my Golf GTi around 1994. Not sure the internet had been invented then!

OP,

Great spec Macan mate. GLWS. If the wife decides she can live without the Panoramic Roof, I may just drop you a PM.

Thank you Hitman. Why do some buyers spout so much nonsense? Do they ever check their audience? Why would it be better for me to sell it for some stupidly low amount. I did have a really nice chat with a chap from Revilo Automotive. He at least was familiar with Porsche, understood the different configurations and was good to his word. Upwards and upwards.
Hi Nosmo,

Yes people will always try and offer silly money for your car. You have to have a figure in mind that you are happy with and try and get that amount. Any luck with the sale?
I've had serious offers from the trade. 2 of those come within a grand of where I'll consider letting go of the car. Bearing in mind the mark up the trade makes, a private buyer would have a relative bargain.
Slightly off-piste, most enquiries come from autotrader, not pistonheads.
Have you tried Tootle? I used them to sell my last M3 as BMW were not offering great money and I was getting silly offers via a private sale. It's free you basically list your car on Tootle with photos and description and you get bids from traders/dealers on your car. Your ad is live for 7 days. If you like any of the bids you can contact them direct and arrange payment/pick up. I was offered a few k more on my M3 than BMW. I contacted the dealer/trader and they transferred a £500 deposit to secure the car. A few days later they collected/paid the balance by bank transfer online. While they were there I called my bank to check funds were in and that was it sale done and car gone within 10 days of my advert going live.

The car has just been driven off the drive. Sad to see it go and excited to be getting the Cayman later during the year.
