Thank you Hitman. Why do some buyers spout so much nonsense? Do they ever check their audience? Why would it be better for me to sell it for some stupidly low amount. I did have a really nice chat with a chap from Revilo Automotive. He at least was familiar with Porsche, understood the different configurations and was good to his word. Upwards and upwards.

Hi Nosmo,

Yes people will always try and offer silly money for your car. You have to have a figure in mind that you are happy with and try and get that amount. Any luck with the sale?

I've had serious offers from the trade. 2 of those come within a grand of where I'll consider letting go of the car. Bearing in mind the mark up the trade makes, a private buyer would have a relative bargain.
Slightly off-piste, most enquiries come from autotrader, not pistonheads.

I ended up selling to trade. I do think there is an issue with selling privately at this price point: you may get lucky but most people will have something to px which plainly you can’t offer.

It’s a difficult one but I sold my well specced 14 month GTS with 11k miles for not much more than you are asking for yours so if you are getting within £1k of what you wanted then you are probably finding the true market value

Thanks for the comment around the PX. I hadn't taken that into consideration. I might have to change my thinking. Pistonheads looks like it has been neglected. The Autotrader side gives you useful stats. Although they are useless untill you get calls and sell the car at least you have a view that it attracts clicks. Autotrader is highlly recommended if you are comfortable taking calls and putting in the work.

Previous posters on here also seem to have better luck with AT than PH.

Only time I’ve ever sold a car privately was a Mark II Golf GTi. That was through AT and I was impressed with the process.

I sold my previous Macan (SD) through Autotrader as well. From memory around 1700 page views in 6 or so weeks.
