I am a fan of these type of forums as a great source of genuine information and advice. . . . I can't find an active SLC forum, does anyone know of one?

My wife wants an SLC, metallic grey or silver, preferably with heated seats, parking sensors and sat nav.

We've been managing with one car (the new Macan) for the past couple of months and it can be done but . . . . . . . . I was quoted £31,500 by Autoebid for a new SLC but she doesn't want to spend that much on a car that is going no further than the golf club and not doing more that 2,000 miles a year. I check Autotrader and Cinche every day but short of driving the length and breadth of the country it's difficult AND some of the used prices are more that the cost of a (discounted) new on. Any ideas?

Here's a link to the SLC Forum /www.mercedesbenzslc.com

We had two brand new SLKs auto petrols in a row. We had the first one for 3 years and the second for 6 years. Both 100% reliable, well built and easy to live with albeit no sports car.

There are loads of SLCs on the Mercedes Approved web site starting from £17k.....

I've got a 2015 250d SLK as my commuter and as above its no sports car but for sunny days cruising down the M4 its ideal at 50MPG. I bought it at 2 years old for £17K which was pretty much half what it cost new and for what you get a bargain to boot. I'd also go MB Approved as the warranty and back up is pretty good.

Thanks for the helpful replies. . . . I've had diesel since 1990 and notwithstanding that I have been VERY satisfied with all those diesel engines in every way I have been scared off by recent government 'propaganda' and unless something changes I am now going petrol.

Didn't check their posting dates.....it was active on the prior forum when we had the SLKs. I've not used a Mercedes one for over 5 years now though.

Here's the main Mercedes Forum https://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/index.php which looks to be active, but more generic.

Forum wise try https://www.slkworld.com/

It's quite heavily biased towards SLKs (obviously) but they do get a few SLC owners on there too. It's also US based but there are a lot of Brits on there so it's family balenced. Ive found it useful for advice and knowledge though so worth a try.
