WANTED - rear pacel shelf (load space cover)

Don't ask... But I now need a replacement rear parcel shelf, in black. Does anyone happen to have one lying around, surplus to requirements?

I really didn't want to point out that one was on eBay when you first asked!

At that time, the only ones on eBay were a bit scruffy or rather expensive or, indeed, located in the US. And a shelf sourced from a Forum member is always likely to be a better bet...

But, as it happens, a "new" item popped up on eBay, in great condition and available at a good price, and I pounced straight away. Fitted and looks like new.

Why did you need a replacement?

Well, it might have had something to do with going to the local tip, taking the shelf out and propping it up against a railing whilst I carted a knackered dishwasher over to the scrap white-goods area... and then driving off.. and not even realising the shelf was missing for three weeks!

Once I had finished looking everywhere in the house, under the beds and in the garage (several times) I finally had a flash of recollection. So straight off to the tip (natch) but about 20 days too late, it seems.

But it could have been far worse. Including delivery, the replacement only cost around £60 so not the end of the world. And no, it wasn't my original shelf I was buying back (for the cynics among us); the replacement was still labeled and came from a different age of vehicle. And my original shelf, I am told, would have gone to land fill within 24 hours of being left behind.

Told you not to ask...

I agree it's easy done. I used to take the parcel shelf out when carrying our dog, and you don't even miss it the rest of the time. Our parcel shelf spent most of it's life in the cupboard.
