It’s easy to get the stick on plates from eBay, but I think I see the dealers name on Martin’s.

Simply stunning. The houndstooth seat centres are a nice touch. Looks like Porsche Kendal - bet a GT3 is a rare sight around the Lakes.

WOW, breathtaking!

I love what you’ve done with it, stripes, exhaust, seats... All add to the nature of the car.

I have a couple of questions. How did the dealer react to the exhaust? Will it affect the warranty?

And I really like the front stick on number plate, so much nicer than the ugly, bulky plinth arrangement, did the dealer supply this?

Many congratulations, you lucky sod!!
Thanks Nasher

The Exhaust can be removed if required for warranty work (It only takes 1 hour to remove and refit the factory silencer). My OPC are aware of it and they are happy to use a 'sensible' approach. ie. If the suspension has an issue or there is an electrics issue it is obviously not the Sharkwerks causing it. If the car is overheating then I may have to revert back to the standard system before they look at the car.

Regarding the number plate this is legal with the correct reflective background and has the BS number fitted and the letters are the correct size (only the surround has been reduced which can also be done on normal plates). The stick on plate was supplied by Rick @ Highgate House who has supplied my decals as well. He also supplies Porsche Reading with decals and lots of Porsche Race Teams and individual car owners. He can add your Dealer details on if you want.

Hi Tom

This is a You Tube video of Redline Cars collecting their 918 Spyder from Reep Yorkshire.

If you go to 2 minutes in you will hear my car being started up :D

It sounds even better on the move....

MartinRS2K wrote: Sat Mar 24, 2018 3:30 pm OK so here goes...... I collected my car first thing this morning and all I can say is that the full experience from getting my allocation to driving off in the car today has been up there with the best in my life (after my daughter being born and meeting and marrying the wife) I know it is 'only' a car but what a car it is!!

I hope you approve of my specification and the customisation I have done to the car.

Sharkwerks Bypass Exhaust fitted with their 100mm cermaic coated tips (The noise is amazing and I've only gone up to 4k revs, so god only knows what it will be like above 7k :o

Replaced the original seat inserts with Porsche original Pepita/Houndstooth ones (keeping the originals in case I ever decide to put them back in)

GT Silver side decals with PORSCHE in Yellow to match the PCCB's and GT Silver Bonnet/Roof/Boot decals

Front and Side PPF and Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra done by Reep Yorkshire who also fitted the decals for me.

The car looks great Martin. I do like the houndstooth inserts - ever since the 50th anniversary edition car, I've had a real soft spot for them. Exclusive Option in the US seem to have cornered the market in houndstooth option - I think you can even get your owner manual done in the finish.

Did Reep set the decals on top of the ceramic coat or underneath?

Can I ask why you put Sharkwerks in from the get go? I'm just curious.

My SE rang me yesterday as I was in the middle of the supermarket with an update on the GTS delivery. Might be some slippage based on PCGB distributing cars from Sheerness with pre-Easter routing. No more than a day at most which is inconvenient as I'd made arrangements with a mate for a lift so don't want to mess him about.

He asked me if I'd had any further thoughts on the RS and I just said do it. I was honest about my intentions and said that if I couldn't live with the car, I would sell it as I bought it to drive. We had a good conversation and going to chat to the DP on collection of the GTS this week about it as well.

An inevitable decision perhaps but appreciate the input from everyone here in helping me come to that choice. Somewhere between the low fat and full fat milk I agreed to buy the most expensive car I've ever owned while a toddler was screaming his lungs out about 10 feet away from me.

This is my exterior spec, I'm debating the wheel choice colour and will likely go satin platinum but this is the car on standard wheels. I won't have decals on the car either, aesthetically, they do nothing for me and the car will be visually obnoxious as it is. I've gone for non-metallic black as I believe GT cars should be flat colours and I'm trying to knock back all the side and bonnet intakes.

What does everyone think of the Aurum wheel colour? My wife referred to it as 'utterly disgusting' so I think I'm clear on her view.

Looks very JPS racing!

Jason Plato's 991 Turbo S exclusive awaiting collection at Reading was in a very similar colour scheme and looked good in the metal.
