Hi All,

Been lurking on here for a while and decided to take the plunge and order a Macan S!

It's my first post but just wanted to share my build and reasoning behind it:

http://www.porsche-code.com/PLZBCDL0

So I've gone for an S as it's my first Porsche and don't want to be disappointed by the 2.0 engine!
Ideally, I'd like to keep the car for a couple of years before getting another (fingers crossed). With that in mind I'm very conscious about the options I'm putting on as I know it can run away with itself and I really don't want to blow a tonne out of this and waste money in areas I don't need to be spending on if that makes sense. I'm sort of going for value retention and best bang for buck I guess!

Would appreciate your guys comments on the spec; I've put a pano on as I understand they're good for re-sale; not all that bothered by one tbh.

Thanks in advance everyone really appreciate the help!

My main comment would be no PASM and 21 wheels. Have you driven a car with that combination because you are at at extreme point of the options availabe for suspension? I admit ride can be a personal taste and that may depend on the vehicles previously owned

Congrats on your new order. A few random suggestions:

A pano roof might make it slightly easier to sell but you will lose nearly all you paid for it.

You might find a heated steering wheel more useful than heated windscreen.

I personally wouldn’t be without Adaptive Cruise.

Surround View does cost a fair bit more than just rev camera, but I find it really useful.

I don’t know much about PDLS but bear in mind you do get LEDs as standard.

Worth adding the 75l tank.

Having owned both 2 and 3 litre Macans, the 2 litre is fine but I agree it’s worth going to the 3 litre for the relatively small price difference.

Nice one.

+1 for the 75l tank. Cheap and if it means another 50miles before having to do the ultimate chore in filling up then it’s worth it.

Love my pano roof just for the light it lets in the cabin more than anything.

Porsche crest on the headrest? Any particular reason? Not worth adding the money into something else?

Agree about the Porsche crests, it took me months to notice them.

Agree. Nice if money no object but really add nothing !

Ps I’ve had them on my sports Porsches but not the Macan - not that money is no object by the way!

Can’t believe how nice a heated steering wheel is....always thought it was a real gimmick, but OMG its now almost a must have :o

I’m not a fan of the pano roof....they look great and let in lots of light, but can be prone to creaking and leaking!

Adaptive cruise is also great...once you’ve had you will struggle to go back....but be warned, if you regularly drive multiple cars and some don’t have it....can be dangerous!

Agreed !

Luckily been ok with ours although admittedly had problems with every other one I’ve had on premium cars from all manufacturers

Don’t miss it having had it on my old RS4 and AMG e class. I do have it on the seat and I’ve used it once !
