Surely the Pilot Sport 4S tyre would be better? Suspect it may be worth fitting immediately unless it’s too extreme for an SUV that already handles as well as this?

Would be interesting to hear some thoughts :D
Unwise to invalidate guarantee with non N approved tyres.

The tyre manufacturers design, produce and brand their ranges for different vehicle types. A tyre branded for sports saloon and coupes may not suit a sports SUV as well as those manufacturers sports SUV tyre or be available in Sports SUV sizes

I’m not sure you are going to notice enough of a difference on a suv to warrant changing the tyres straight away.

Thanks for the replies. The main issue here seems to be warranty so I think I’ll hold off non-approved tyres. Probably not worth the hassle, or the risk of the classics being scratched during the switch over either

Video conference call with my OPC today to go through some FCA bits and pieces. Car on track to land in the coming 2-3 weeks before delivery at March end as requested.

These tyre and alloy and minor damage insurance things are an absolute rip-off. They offered detailing too but I advised that I’ll be making my own arrangements for everything.

Happy to hear that it comes with a tracker as well and I’d just need to buy a subscription. I believe Land Rover do that as well but it’s surprisingly uncommon in the wider market.

The PVTS was originally operated by Cobra but is now operated by Vodaphone. There are a number of threads on this topic on the forum. Some members swear by it and others swear at it.

God, I'd hoped they might have moved on from Vodafone. Had the same system in my Turbo S and 540c and that stupid lump of plastic is such a pain in the arse. They really can't come up with anything that could fit unobtrusively on a key ring??

Have just noticed that my insurance quote assumed no tracker and its nice and cheap so probably won't bother activating it.

Agreed!

Mind you it saved me once about 12 years ago when I had left the fob and my wallet somewhere late one night

The company phoned to see if the car had been stolen which meant I could straight around and go back and get my belongings before the place closed !

Just had the call - all good. Amazed at how dealers seem so surprised when someone buys cash over finance these days.

The big news is the car has already been built! It’s apparently at a port in Germany waiting for a boat. Probably a few weeks until it reaches the dealer.

Re the tracker - interesting opinions here. Will see what the subscription options are. I’ve used tracker.co.uk previously who are probably the best in the business and I may go with them once again.

Just check that fitting Tracker does not invalidate your warranty. Also, Tracker may not have an approved location on the Macan for their equipment. These are just my thoughts and I could well be wrong.

I've nothing against Tracker, I had it on three Mercedes but my dealer was approved by both Mercedes and Tracker to fit the system.
