I seem to have gone off Adaptive Cruise as I’m yet to see a GTS on the second hand market that has it. It appears to be more of a regular Macan/Turbo feature than a GTS feature due to the increased focus on driving with this model.
Well I have my suspicions about GTS vs any other Macan driver. Its not exactly GT3 RS vs Carrera 2 type difference, I think people like the GTS badge and the look and extra kit (just like you are doing vs an S) and it fits their budget, rather than being a different breed of driver. Its a two tonne SUV after all
Agree with tracky on black spyders, but that's personal. It's why that silver lip on the black SCs makes all the difference IMHO
That is probably true. But I also hear Porsche customers are more traditional/old-school driver types of people - and the keyless entry solution says a lot about that as well. And I don’t do long motorway journeys often - but when I do I like to be on the ball and look for opportunities to save time/enjoy the car as much as possible. So it would really be wasted on me and I don’t think it’s essential.
On the wheels - I do actually have another question. I know the spyders are hard to clean, the SCs easy, but what about micro-scratches to the gloss black? I hear even micro fibre cloths that are used during washing can cause abrasions? I intend to protect the wheels with a gtechniq coating to make maintenance as easy as possible, but I don’t want them to need constant refurbishment/touch-ups to look good.

Depends on the bodywork colour to get best effect with the black spyders

Ah yes that fits what I’ve seen - most of the ones with spyders are white, blue or red and they do look really good.
Looked at the crayon paint as well. The facelift turbo variant that was reviewed online had that paint scheme and it looks absolutely fantastic with black wheels and it may help the spyders look their best.
So I’ve currently got RS + crayon or SC + volcanic grey in my head.
With the OTR costs I’m already at £68k so some may argue that I might as well go for it a bit more and get up to £70k

3 years on and 17,000 miles and my black spyders look as good as new. I find them much easier to clean than my F-Type wheels.
I would also test drive a GTS with non air and 20" wheels, I think the ride is excellent.
I find standard cruise control on UK roads pointless, on my cars that have not had ACC I was always on and off with the cruise. With ACC it works so well.

Wow I mean that is a stunner! I’ve just seen the spec in your sig - you’ve not held back. Lovely stuff
Now that complicates things slightly.
This was the one I was talking about - somehow it looks better with the spyders though .

I wasn't a fan of the black spyders at first but I just love them now. Agree very dependent on bodywork colour though, probably lighter colours.

Lovely car The glossy SCs seem to be more versatile - they go nicely with every colour, whereas the spyders do need some exposure against lighter paint to look good. But I think with crayon, which is my favourite of the light colours, I’d definitely choose the spyders now that I’ve seen a few examples.
On the subject of wheels, I think finding cars to look at in person might be the best option, though tier 4 restrictions may complicate that.
Other cars...
The Alfa Stelvio QV has 20” only - and I think they’re too small for the profile of the car. They don’t seem to fill the arches.
The BMW X3MC is more or less the same size as the Macan and has 21” only (and a horrendous ride) but they look perfect for the size of the car.
The Aston Martin DBX is maybe a bit taller than the Macan, not much bigger, and has 22”. They look perfect too. Saw one yesterday - it looks like they’ve put a Macan front and Vantage rear on it but it’s a stunner.
So leaning towards 21” on paper but I think this decision can only be made while seeing them in the flesh.
