My GTS was due for delivery on 25 March 2020, just a day after the first lock down. Eventually my OPC arranged delivery on 1st June to my home in a fully enclosed delivery truck. Very professionally done by this third party company with good communication in advance of the timed delivery.

All the paperwork was done electronically in advance. Photos and a walk around video were sent to me in late March. The car was delivered in immaculate condition, with a full tank of premium fuel. The delivery driver passed me the keys in a sealed bag wearing PPE. Great service and much better than faffing around at the dealership. Post lock down a 'master class' was then offered by my OPC's SE to cover any aspects of the vehicle operation etc, if needed.

Delivery on a truck would suit me no bother at all , I find the handover of a new car a touch tedious to be honest.

Remember buying a new Audi off a pal of mine who worked at the local Audi dealer , when I went down to collect , just give me the keys and I’ll be away , tick any boxes you need to for handover and I’ll confirm if anyone from Audi follows with a courtesy call.

Both of us were happy .

I suspect it would’ve been the same as any other luxury car dealer, but being Porsche I believe there is more emphasis on the hospitality side of things. But I guess I’ll never know unless I buy another one in future.

I remember when I picked the RS4 up on 1/3/18, I was fed and watered in their lovely seating area while they got round to preparing my car for handover. Then just some paperwork, the usual overviews, and I was on my way.

It was actually snowing quite heavily at that time because we had the beast from the east kind of thing going on, so there was quite a bit of wheel-spin and a bit of twitching on the way back home on fresh rubber.

Some interesting stories here. I actually wouldn’t mind the simple handover because you just get on with it, but also a proper handover for cars at this price point makes you feel suitably special.

No idea what they’ve got planned yet. Currently waiting for the vehicle to come out of the workshop so they can send me some snippets 😁

Finally have one pic to show - more on collection around the end of the month

For anyone undecided about colours, this volcano grey does look sharp. 😎 Also, glad I went with the classics as the 20 inch spyders wouldn’t have looked their best with a dark colour

Wheels look superb and really like the red GTS accents against the grey.

Just an update post. The car was back from the detailer on Friday and I’ve not really had much chance with it yet. More pics etc as we get to the weekend.

This was a quick snap from the handover bay on collection day - all done from bays outdoors (as I’d expected). Anyone guess the OPC? It’s a new centre. 😁

Initial observations are that the car is definitely aggressive beyond the looks. Startup is loud and it’s not completely floaty on our roads even with the air suspension. Standard springs and 21” wheels would possibly be too firm for the liking of some people. I imagine the S/Turbo models are more forgiving in that regard?

PVTS is working well so far. Had one of the tracker fobs in the house with the spare, and one in the car. Was flicking through the app the other day and saw that the car had done about 17mpg on a trip though city roads at the weekend. That’s absolutely fine but the 75 litre fuel tank hopefully means not having to stop too often. I reckon it’s one of the most underrated options given that getting the gloves/sanitiser out at petrol stations is now a must.

Very nice GTS 👍 As a complete guess, is the OPC Kendal?

^Nope not Kendal. It was OPC Stockport. They only opened in summer last year but a nice experience. Friendly staff and lovely looking showroom. If I buy a Taycan then I’ll hopefully get more of an experience.
