April cannot come soon enough, of the many options to chose from when configuring the build, the wheels are where I agonised the most (so many great choices) - eventually decided that I preferred the look of the 21” Spiders having seen in the flesh.

So I managed to look at them both this morning and the 20” spyders easily look nice enough - perhaps more sporty than showy.
But I think I’ve got to go with the 21” for their added road presence. The gloss blacks are quite something in the flesh.
I’ve also been advised that it may be wiser to play it safe with the interior look and focus on things like air suspension, ACC and other desirable options that add to the usability.
But nevertheless the interior upgrades are still so tempting

Porsche standard interior trim and materials are high in quality, and compared to most manufactures.
The difficulty is often being able to personally examine the standard spec when so many dealers' demonstrators have all the 'bells & whistles' optional equipment enhancements.

Yes that’s the thing - you want the interior to look as special as the exterior and temptation may give way.SAC1 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 4:15 pm Porsche standard interior trim and materials are high in quality, and compared to most manufactures.

So mercifully it now it comes down to (1) vs (2) - the one a rational person would buy vs the “have your wicked way with it” spec.

(2). Quite a lot of money that you won't see back, just to brighten up the monochrome grey / black look.
If you're not concerned about the best residual value; go for it.

You've gone for the "Q" car approach with your exterior colour. The red GTS on the side blades and with the GTS leather interior in red will be a subtle indication of the true nature of the car.
Steve is right to say that you won't get back the money you spend on options but if it makes it the car you want for how ever long you intend to keep the car then it's worth it.
You should never spec a car for the next owner, unless you're buying a repmobile.

Tempting as it may be to go with the bling interior, deep down I know that a utilitarian approach would be best for an SUV. But of course, having what you like the most is important as well. I think this is a decision that only time will make for me. For the 718/911 GTS you wouldn’t think twice.
But what I do know is that I’m also going to go with the 18-way seats for the lumbar support and greater adjustability.
Also, I can now understand why Tony has gone for the 21” silver spyders for his GTS. Was behind a facelift S at the Costa drive-thru today and found them to be a lovely balance between stately and sporty. They perhaps don’t look drug-dealer-y like the glossy sport classics on a dark car. And of course the car itself is just gorgeous. Though the guy driving it was wearing a striped tracksuit which I found to be a bit odd. There’s always going to be one

Right then - last amendable date Friday 8th Jan
More or less settled on the 21” silver spyders - still enough “GTS-ness” in their look but an improved stance and a nice contrast with darker paint.
Delivery looks to be by the end of March. Should be nice running it in as covid restrictions are gradually eased with the vaccine and so on. Will actually be able to go somewhere
