Been such a rubbish year with no holidays etc I decided to spend the savings on trading in my 4 year old Macan S petrol for a new GTS. Got a May build slot so hopefully get it sometime in June, gotta be better than the current one which took 14 months to arrive.
My initial spec is not much different to my existing car but will have air suspension, heated windscreen and led headlights which I don’t have at present. Other than that the usual upgrades, panoramic roof, full leather, 18 way seats, 75L tank spare wheel etc.
Other thing I’ve done is add a tow bar as I plan to get rid of my old Shogun that I use for towing and in crap weather!
Current car is now overdue for a service as it’s just over 4 years old and has done 37500 miles, but as we are not allowed to travel and anyway I’ve only done just over 2000 miles since the first lockdown, so by may it will still be well under 40,000 miles so I wonder if it’s worth paying the quoted £1250 for the service or just leaving it? Will soon be needing a full set of tyres and probably getting close to new discs and pads too so that’s another £2k which I’m hoping to avoid.
Need to check one option I ticked for heated front and rear seats, is this really just for the rear seats as the front are heated as standard now? Could save me a couple of hundred or so if that’s true as I never have rear seat passengers.
Are they still offering new owners a visit to Silverstone or has COVID put paid to that?

If a service is overdue then you will have that price deducted from any trade in or private sale price so you might as well do it now and it makes the car look a lot better cared for. Have you discussed trade in with your dealer as they may already have deducted the service price.
Likewise tyres, if they are near replacement you will again have that cost deducted by most buyers.

The front heated seats are standard, Silverstone came through when I ordered during first lockdown ( though haven’t booked it yet ). As OP stated, the trade in price will reflect any work that they would see that’s needed, but that may be less than getting it done yourself? Ask them for a valuation now.bigbaldybloke wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 11:31 pm Been such a rubbish year with no holidays etc I decided to spend the savings on trading in my 4 year old Macan S petrol for a new GTS. I suggest you get the service done by an OPC ASAP. Also replace the tyres pre-trade in to maximise the residual value.
I did the Silverstone half day in Sep 2020 when Covid restrictions had eased. Doubtful it will be operating again until the current level is reduced.
You will not regret the move to the new model GTS though.

Thanks for comments, that sort of confirmed my feelings, as soon as permitted I’ll get the tyres changed and I need to go to the dealer to agree the valuation once we can travel so might as well get the service done then.
New car code is below, apart from deleting the heated rear seats is anything vital missing?

Shop around for the N0 tyres as prices vary a lot. For example Michelin owned Blackcircles.com where a discount code can usually be found online e.g. http://www.allthepromos.com/stores/blackcirclesbigbaldybloke wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 9:29 pm Thanks for comments, that sort of confirmed my feelings, as soon as permitted I’ll get the tyres changed and I need to go to the dealer to agree the valuation once we can travel so might as well get the service done then.

MikeM wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 11:23 pmSome suggestions, heated steering wheel and PS plus. also, if your going with pebble interior it looks better with matching seatbelts. Would change the black interior package as doesn’t look so good against the dash top, the Leather package is much better. The photos here show it in Agate leather, Just added c£2k . Is this vital? For me yes, but definitely heated wheel and seat belts.bigbaldybloke wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 9:29 pm Thanks for comments, that sort of confirmed my feelings, as soon as permitted I’ll get the tyres changed and I need to go to the dealer to agree the valuation once we can travel so might as well get the service done then.
