Appreciating that information will be short on this, but I thought I'd see if anyone had heard anything....

I still have my 2016 GTS (and I still love it!). I was due to get the new GTS last year, but for various reasons I pulled out. I'm now looking to get an order in for a new one soon, but there appears to be an intent to release a small facelift in the summer (seeminly mostly internal with maybe a bit of external styling change). I'm not talking about the EV models coming in for 2022 but rather a last change to the current petrol line up.

Personally, I may still go for the current version as I like the buttons and I'm less convinced by the touch/haptic controls that are now in the Panamera / Cayenne (although I'd be the first to admit that I've never actually tried them). But there could be new options such as the HUD on the Cayenne etc that I would be interested in.

So.. as a big open question, has anyone heard anything beyond the odd picture on the internet? Dates, supply etc. I think I may have missed the last chance to get a current GTS, certainly at my local PC as build slots are now being quoted as September, but that doesn't appear to be universal and I know I could travel further to get a slot with another PC just before the new facelift model comes in.

I was just looking for a bit of rumour that might help me make up my mind as to what I want to do next! Thanks in advance!

My OPC has taken my deposit for a facelift S for August though that is only a date for the order. He believes the GTS will be a lot later like the last time and there is always a possibility that there will not be a GTS. Still trying to decide if to get a GTS .

So what have those who have ordered one think they are getting?

My dealer doesn’t know anything about it and thinks it’s strange that they are going to so much change so late in its life, particularly with the ev one coming

I’d say get a current one while you can. A GTS variant of the updated version might not even happen given that the centrepiece of the range will be an electric Macan. And if it does it’s likely to be curtailed by more EU regulations.

Not to mention the (potential) upcoming speed limiter being mandatory from 2022....

Another reason not to delay your new Macan order. ;)

Thanks folks - very interesting. I’d been reading the US forum here: https://www.macanforum.com/threads/pors ... ft.176991/...

... but I hadn’t thought about the key point that the GTS is normally the last to come out. I think they plan to run EV alongside the petrol for a while so it could easily be 2022 before the GTS came out. I think I’m moving to getting a current generation one if I possibly can.

And thanks SAC1 - I actually hadn’t read about the speed limiter; that’s a ‘no’ from me - new car needed in 2021 in that case!

As we know, it has been in Autocar but, as far as I can tell, it will only make it worse. Not only will they turn the centre console into an iPad-type thing that will be very difficult to use while driving, they’re also likely to add soft limiters and other softeners for the drivetrain.

As such I don’t think it’s a surprise that they’re not making any noise about it. My OPC confirmed that there’s going to be a price rise in the coming months as well.

Wise decision I’d say 👍

But he can’t see why they would make so many changes on what is now an old model which I agree with.
