Current lead times on GTS
So to be clear the 95B.2 is not also known as gen 2 then like the 911s you refer to which were minor facelifts part way through their model lives too
When the mode numbers of 911s change 996>997>991>992 they are new models but the part model year cycles are generations.
I’m not aware of any significant model changes in the Macan to me ? The Gen2 has significantly different look at the back and nee engines
Seems like the best way to refer to them to me!!

The 991 is the seventh generation 911. 991.1 and 991.2 are both of the same generation, the latter being the facelifted model. Porsche referred to the latter as the 991.2 or 991 II.
The 992 is the eighth generation 911.
The 95B is the first generation Macan. 95B.1 and 95B.2 are both of the same generation, the latter being the facelifted model. Porsche referred to the latter as the 95B.2 or the 95B II.

The dealer did suggest they will be selling their gts demo in the summer.. for close to list I wouldn’t do that.ghostwalker wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 1:52 pmI think putting a deposit down is a good move because it will give dealers more leverage with Porsche to secure some more build slots to meet demand before production ends. I don’t think they’ll turn it down. Fingers crossed!
IMO the chances of another GTS in 2023 are pretty slim. As per Porsche tradition they usually come 18 months after the launch of an updated model, and with speed limiters mandatory from around then and emissions rules always tightening, I think a hybridised 3.0L is more likely to plug the gap between the base petrol and turbo versions, with the electric version being more money on top of that.
Porsche are behaving very strangely towards the Macan atm. When I was doing my GTS at the turn of the year I asked about the Turbo, as I thought I might as well go all out and you get yet more kit as standard, and that was also a unicorn in terms of build slots. The lead time was going to be “at some point before Christmas” so I stuck with the GTS slot I had. Glad I did! Also glad I didn’t get the S which I was looking at initially - they seem to be the only facelift Macans on the road around here (Cheshire area).
We’ll just have to see what happens.
I could get a turbo but I’ll be honest it doesn’t float my boat, it’s funny how there’s such variation dealer to dealer.
Again I’m not concerned I’ll warranty mine, I love it anyway and get the big service done. I may even consider getting a used 991 gts for maybe a year.

Got to say PaulR, I think you're the ONLY person I've seen anywhere say that the current Macan isn't known as Gen2.PaulR wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 6:05 pmThe 991 is the seventh generation 911. 991.1 and 991.2 are both of the same generation, the latter being the facelifted model. Surely the numbers are model numbers as they tend to be much more than a facelift - think 997 to 991 for example.PaulR wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 6:05 pmThe 991 is the seventh generation 911. 991.1 and 991.2 are both of the same generation, the latter being the facelifted model. Then part way through there is a facelift which always get referred to as a generation change which has been the case since the 996 I believe but definitely the 997.
The Macan went through a significant facelift inside and out in 2019 which included new engines and would therefore make sense to be called gen 2 which goes nicely with your model numbers.
Also seems like a logical way to differentiate the two models

I did not say that the current Macan isn't known as 'Gen2'. Of course it is! You and half the people on this forum are calling it exactly that.Rarecolour wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 9:24 am Got to say PaulR, I think you're the ONLY person I've seen anywhere say that the current Macan isn't known as Gen2.

My point is that the current car is actually the 'generation 1' model. I am absolutely correct on this.
I have enough nous to understand what most people mean when 'Gen2' is stated on this forum. However it would have been good for this Porsche Forum to agree on terminology as it removes ambiguity. I will live with the fact that some people will be referring to the facelifted generation 1 car and other people will be referring to the upcoming all-electric model.

A gen I or gen II 991 GTS?
Actually looking for a nice 991.II GTS myself right now, it’s supposed to be a cracking car.

Where's that facepalm emoji!!
Any GTS is good in my books, Macan or 911, first generation, seventh generation...
Back to topic, with the expected upcoming Macan refresh, I'm wondering if there will be a GTS at all. If this is a light refresh, then Porsche may implement across the Macan range in one swoop. However if it's a bit heavier then Porsche may launch the range slowly. If so, the GTS will be last or, even worse, not launched at all.
I've been having a look at the spy photos and these only look like base and S models. This is based on their bumper designs, the visibility or otherwise of the intercoolers, the brake calliper colours and the exhaust configurations.

Had a chat with a different OPC today, if order placed now, expect GTS delivery around June/July.
