Seat options have disappeared?

Hi,

I'm a few days away from my freeze point on my GTS and having just come to finalise it, I've found that the seat options have disappeared i.e. the only seats that I can now 'choose' are the 8-way ones.

Has anyone heard anything about this from their OPC? I think I saw something about a shortage of chips that affected seat production on another post a couple of weeks ago that I now can't find but I really just want to get an understanding of whether this is a temporary issue or something more permanent. The fact that the change has been made on the configurator makes me worried that this is going to last for some time.

Thanks!

I’m also only a few days away from locking down my GTS spec and the 18 way seats are my number 1 option. If not available then I’ll be cancelling my order I’m afraid which I really hope isn’t the case.

yes same for S' 8 way only; but Turbo has 14 and 18 way as a choice so you have now to go top of the range to get adequate seat flexibility for some or lumber support

I don’t want a turbo nor do I want to buy a used gts as they are too close to new in price which is why I decided to buy new in the first place. Can’t see any way round this given they have gone from the configurator.

Ask your OPC to hold your order until your desired seats are available. Alternatively, cancel your order and reorder when 14/18 way seats reappear on the configurator.

Both these options involve delay but the alternative is 8 way seats with no "driver seat memory" option. A lot of people are happy with the standard GTS 8-way seats.

Problem I have with waiting is that I don’t have another car really and with lockdown easing I need one for work. Other issue is I don’t want a touch screen version which is what I’ll get if I wait too long. What’s peoples experience of standard seats who are 6 2 or taller?

Starting to feel a little underwhelmed by the Porsche buying experience. First off, blue is dropped from the palette, then told race-tex headlining unavailable and now potentially no 18-way seats - which also means no electric adjustment of the steering wheel. Just wondering what next? Seems the car I want, I cannot actually get.

Although I can see all this is frustrating, I do not think Porsche is worse than any other manufacturers in this respect. The "Pandemic" has caused supply issues for many manufacturers.

I am reserving judgement until global supply chains recover from current glitches. I left BMW largely on ow their UK Marketing department has reduced choice for UK customers compared to that available in Europe well before the pandemic hit meaning they could no longer supply the type of car I wanted to the UK.

I’ve emailed my dealer as I have a June build slot for my Macan S - I submitted and signed for my build spec back in March but reading all of this along with the removals of paint options, dealers in the US being warned of delays of 12 weeks, it’s making me a little nervous. No reply just yet - has anyone heard anything on this officially?
