I cannot see any "Gen 2" cars being built after the factory shut down and retooling at end of July. if I am wrong it will be the first time Porsche has operated like that. Any unfulfilled Gen 2 orders will become Gen 3 builds and yes component supply issues may mean some of those builds get continued delays.
I think there will a significant price differential between gen 2 and 3 so can’t see Porsche giving it to you for the same money. I’ve also specced 18 way which may be the issue.

Hi F1 Nut

I put my deposit down mid April, fiddled with the spec and submitted it end of April to be told green wasn't now available and the then the 18w seat option disappeared some time after that.

I don't want black, white or grey (as per current Audi) so will wait for the new colour options hopefully next week.

Would be wonderful they gave me a gen 3 GTS at gen 2 prices but I know I've got more chance of a full head of hair growing back than that happening!!!

(I'm still not sure about the pano roof. I'm hoping that they might have reworked them to prevent any leaking which seems totally unacceptable for any to leaks at the prices they charge!!!)

Exciting week!!!

I don't understand why Porsche are producing a Gen. 3 Macan so soon, when the Gen 2 has only been out for two years (I received my Macan S in May 2019).

Probably not appropriate for this post but I like the 20'' RS Spyder wheels in Satin Black on the Macan but how come these are not available in 21's as would look much better?

I suspect the pace of change is due to Porsche's size and pressure on development resources. I would argue the 2019 changes of the move to Audi latest v6 engines and some suspension and styling changes produced Gen 1 1/2. The 2021 changes of the revised dashboard and what else new turns up completes what is really one complete revision. it also helps their marketing to split the changes as generates two periods of showroom interest

Hello All,

Totally new to the forum and to the whole Porsche thing. I just wanted to chime-in on the face-lift model having put down a deposit last weekend (10th July) for a Macan S (Spec is http://www.porsche-code.com/PMUPWHK1 if you want to look it up). I have given them a spec but they wont take the actual order yet because, as we all know, the price and the spec sheet will change. So they know what I want but will only place the actual order when the new info comes out. So effectively I have bought a spot in the waiting list. They have said the following:

1. They suspect there will be a slight price hike, but they don't know how much
2. Porsche HQ have been telling them for weeks now that they would hear shortly, and still nothing
3. They "think" my order will probably be fulfilled somewhere around Dec but obviously can't be sure
4. The same global lack of chips that is affecting everyone (other than Tesla apparently) is affecting them, so that will add to the delay.
5. They think its possible some some of the current options will become standard so this may offset the price rise (lets see)

On top of this, of course, large parts of Germany are currently underwater, so I'm not sure if that will also have any impact.

BTW, "They" in this instance is Porsche Mid Sussex in Burgess Hill.

So I'll keep my fingers crossed. My current lease expires in Dec, so if it goes past that date I may have some tricky logistics to contend with and my son may have to lend me his car slightly more than he'd like.

Assume you must be happy with standard ICE audio system but think I would have included the Bose upgrade over some of your other options eg leather interior for over 2k but of course its your decision. Good luck and agree new version will probably be better value.

Happy to hear suggestions on options. I’ve redone it about a million times. The bose stereo is the only one I’m still on the fence with. I’ve been told the standard stereo is pretty good. Does the Bose offer anything over sound quality ie any additional features,

It's has Graphic Equilizer fitted in the boot which improves range quality and additional higher spec speakers dotted around. Seems that 2k can buy lots of other ops! Assume your seats will be leather anyway as standard?
