Totally new to the forum and to the whole Porsche thing. I just wanted to chime-in on the face-lift model having put down a deposit last weekend (10th July) for a Macan S (Spec is http://www.porsche-code.com/PMUPWHK1 if you want to look it up). I have given them a spec but they wont take the actual order yet because, as we all know, the price and the spec sheet will change. So they know what I want but will only place the actual order when the new info comes out. So effectively I have bought a spot in the waiting list. They have said the following:

1. They suspect there will be a slight price hike, but they don't know how much
2. Porsche HQ have been telling them for weeks now that they would hear shortly, and still nothing
3. They "think" my order will probably be fulfilled somewhere around Dec but obviously can't be sure
4. The same global lack of chips that is affecting everyone (other than Tesla apparently) is affecting them, so that will add to the delay.
5. They think its possible some some of the current options will become standard so this may offset the price rise (lets see)

On top of this, of course, large parts of Germany are currently underwater, so I'm not sure if that will also have any impact.

BTW, "They" in this instance is Porsche Mid Sussex in Burgess Hill.

So I'll keep my fingers crossed. My current lease expires in Dec, so if it goes past that date I may have some tricky logistics to contend with and my son may have to lend me his car slightly more than he'd like.
Configurator will update tuesday night about 11pm, i'd forget that spec as new wheels, colours, the full range of seats should all be available too.
Last update it was about £1500-2000 increase. They have already said that the GTS will cost about £6000 more. https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new- ... ype-review
I'd say your OPC is keeping their cards close to their chest, Mine told me back in april the exact date of the configurator change, and the info about wheels and colours that were then confirmed in the above article.

I’ve been told the standard stereo is pretty good. Does the Bose offer anything over sound quality ie any additional features,
We will be speccing bose, do you mainly listen to the radio, or music through an iphone?
We sat in one without and one with, and plugged in, as we mostly listen to music we specced it. We felt we could hear the difference.
Bose includes a sub in the boot and better speakers.

I’ve seen a review that says it sounds great when you’re sitting in the showroom, but when you’re actually on the road it’s difficult to tell the difference. I’d like the Bose, but to me things like full leather and active Cruise are more important. My current car has those so losing them would seem a bit of a down grade. Still, lets see what happens with the price changes. I may end up having to compromise.

I originally had the base seats with the alcantera centres and added the Alcentera sports steering wheel to match ( because I sat in one at the FoS that had that spec and quite liked it) but decided to spend that money elsewhere. There are lots of options and I’m prone to pick all of them, but that gets a tad pricey in Porsche land.

Frankly I really like the centre console buttons and am sad to see them going. I hope they keep the mix of digital and analogue dials and don’t go completely digital.

There is a cheaper way to get leather seat centres by adding 14 way i think, you have picked the extended leather for the door cards and dash also which bumps it up, we had leather seat centres on 14 ways last time

14 way seats have been taken off the option list ( for now, probably). I like the leather on the tops of the doors and the door panels. Seems that’s only available with full leather.

They should reappear next week. Not much of a launch if half the options are missing.

Yep, you will need the full leather then

Whether a £6,000 increase for the new GTS is alot will depend on what comes as 'standard' But assume it will not be the same as the Turbo model or that could be seen as a bargain!!

Just noticed you haven't ticked the Keyless Entry box?

keyless entry oddly wasn't on there as an option either (unless it has a name that isn't obvious). I wonder if that means it will be a standard feature on the revised model. In fact I wonder if the options that have vanished will be standard features (hope!). It would be nice if it gets a heads-up display as well. I'll miss not having one of those. I hardly ever look at the dahsboard anymore.

UPDATE: Found it. Its called "Entry and Drive". My current car has it, and my Son's MX5 has it, but they are proper keyless entry rather than having a dummy key permanently inserted in the key hole. I really hope they update in the facelift and put a proper "start" button in. Keyless entry is good but it's not worth nearly £500 (to me). Although.......may have that rather than the backed-out taillights. Hadn't even considered those until I saw one in the showroom with them. My Aston had red tail lights and I always liked the clear ones better. Decisions, decisions......

I'm avoiding keyless for the theft risk, lots of cars going missing via relay attacks.
Clear lights IMO
