Gen 3 orders
Just buy the car and enjoy it. Who cares if it’s a 21 or 22 year car. Life’s too short and it’ll have absolutely no effect whatsoever on residuals IMO.
Agreed, plus where is the cut-off? Mine is due mid Nov, so should I not accept it ( I suspect the OPC would have something to say about that )? Is the cut off 2 days, 10 days, a month? Frankly, and some of you may have noticed this ( naming no names Neil ) I’m a little impatient. Getting my grubby mitts on the car is far more important to me than the year it’s registered in. Plus its on PCP so the final value has already been agreed.mistercesq wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 1:55 pm Just buy the car and enjoy it. Who cares if it’s a 21 or 22 year car. Afternoon all,
Just thought I would say Hello! I have decided after buying and running new Merc's for the last twenty years to buy a Porsche. All sorts of reasons but basically service from official Merc dealer was abysmil plus oppertunity to spec a build on a new car has really been limited now.
Over last couple of months looked at a number of marques and cars and although originally was going to go for a Panamera, I was taken over by the Macan and having found this forum and reading its many posts have decided to buy a new Macan GTS after my wife gave that nod of acceptance!!
I have visited the OPC that I wish to do buisness with and sales guy was really helpful as well, and understood why I wanted the options I did. I now have an appointment next Wednesday to pay my deposit and get the ball rolling. I know there will be a long wait but Im sure it will be worth it and for those interested this will be the build Im going for.

I look forward to keeping in touch and maybe some pics when the car arrives, I will of course appreaciate any comments from those Macan experts on the forum if I have made a mistake in my build, but Im happy with it.
Cheers GTB (Gareth).

Aye,
That will be the case so 10/10 for your observations!!
Plus the more darts you throw at the board, good chance I will hit the bullseye.

Thought I might give some hope and good news to all in regards to the parts shortages and delayed delivery dates.
Just a quick recap, I placed my order end of July and was lucky to find a cancelled September build slot for my Macan S. I was told there would be a slight delay because of the build change and given an estimated late November /early Dec delivery date. I tried to do a last minute configuration change today only to be told by my OPC that the my order had been locked and my delivery date has now in fact been moved earlier to end of October, which is great news! I have the air suspension / PASM, 14 way seats options and so hopefully this means that Porsche are sorting out the supply issues.
