Just noticed on my new Macan GTS order that in the standard equipment is Porsche Vehicle Tracking System Plus (subscription required).
Can anyone advise if it’s any good? Cost of subscription etc? Any info much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Steve
PVTS Plus?
In my view it's another lump of plastic you have to carry around, if my insurance company had offered a discount with it I'd have gone for it but living where I do they don't so I didn't. I'll, therefore leave it to others to pass judgement on its standard but I'd expect quality from Porsche/Vodafone.

From what I've read it can be very problematic. Also, the lump of plastic is pretty big. I didn't bother with it, but you still get the keys supplied with the vehicle.

A system has been fitted as standard for years.
There used to be a free period based on the lowest level of support available, there were three levels available with it being possible to upgrade via subscription.
On two Macans I have owned it was problematic and intermittent in operation.
The fobs for my Turbo’s tracker have resided in a draw at home since 2017.
Never subscribed, and NFU my insurer did not require an active tracker system.

For my first Macan, it was an insurance requirement and I'd already transferred the contract to the new car before I realised that my new insurer (NFU) didn't require it.
It costs £266 for one year, £476 for two so if it isn't a requirement it all depends on how much you value peace of mind.
My wife and I each carried an alarm fob and when I used to go out to the pub with my brother she would drop me off. She kept the fob in the base of her handbag and I always new when she was coming to collect me as Vodophone would ring up and tell me the car was stolen. So the system works.

I haven't bothered with it and my insurer (Privilege) doesn't insist on a tracker to cover my 2020 Turbo
I believe the insurance company requirement or otherwise for a tracker has more to do with our postcode than their name, although they won't all pigeonhole us in an identical way
