ALL 6 cyl facelift Macans have PASM, so I assume they are all delayed. I also assume pretty much every Porsch has a variation of PASM, so I assume the word here is ALL Porsche’s are being delayed. However, I can’t find a single news article that actually says that, its all just hearsay on forums. Not saying its wrong but I’d like a bit more ‘official’ info.

I’ll ask my OPC when i am there tomorrow.

Your post causes me to raise a point just in case anyone considering a used Macan assumes that certain features will be included.

This is not the case as with the very first Macan’s even the provision of mobile phone connectivity was an extra as was a separate heating zone for the rear seats, worst of all halogen headlights were standard in base and S models.

The inclusion of PASM is for me and my old back a Must Have, it provides a vastly superior ride compared to a Macan without it, more so with 21” rims, again PASM was only standard on the GTS and Turbo models which really should tell you something if you think it is an unnecessary option.

The VIN number if entered in the system at an OPC can give the exact specification of the car, so do make sure you check the exact spec of not just a Macan but of any Porsche you are considering.

Good luck with narrowing down your requirements and specs.

One final point, do double check your new Macan spec that the OPC has filled in the order correctly, whilst rare we have had members who have had the wrong colour Macan supplied and others with options wanted but missed on the official order.

You won’t have fog lights….

I notice ours a lot. Not as good as the matrix on the 911 but does throw the light out wide as you slow down for junctions etc.
I've quoted below from the "Standard Features" page on the configurator.

LED main headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS)
Dynamic cornering lights, speed-sensitive headlight range control, adverse weather function, dynamic range control and four-point LED daytime running lights
Front light units with position lights and direction indicators with LED guide technology

Tracky is right that you don't get foglights any more but the cornering function is still there. PDLS+ uses Sat Nav info to turn the cornering lights on as you approach a junction whereas PDLS is activated by turning the steering wheel. The other PDLS+ function is auto high beam.

^^^^ not overly fussed about it preempting corners, not having auto full beam is a bit crap though. Again my mini has that, as do most new Transit Vans.

I wouldn't waste the money.

I've driven various cars with it, BMWs, JLR products, and you usually end up having to override it at some point or blind and upset oncoming as it was temperamental at best useless at worst!!!

^^mine works “ok” but there are definitely times where I am overwhelmed with guilt as it blinds on-coming drivers. Works well 90-95% of the time though

Thanks for some useful input I have now finalised the configuration for an early November delivery. Biggest decision was the colour decided by the daughters who banned me from another blue or grey car. The interior colour will mean the grandchildren will be going in my wife's Volvo.

MCKD wrote: Fri Aug 06, 2021 3:56 pm Re. Bose I would say you should definitely try before settling on the standard. I read lots of people saying the standard is fine, and if you only listen to the radio it is but if you stream any music via bluetooth the difference is huge - much more bass, and for whatever reason the volume equalises with the other audio sources much better. On the normal system I had to turn the volume way up for any streaming and that was after trying every menu option so when you stopped streaming the radio deafened you which while seeming minor would really annoy me. To get fun (yes loud) levels on the standard I had to have the volume uncomfortably near max. Plus the audio quality on the Bose was much better - allegedly it has a dac or aptx or whatever specifically for bluetooth sources and you could hear it was much higher quality.

Im coming from B&O on Audi previously and HK on BMW now and its at least as good as these - if that's what you're coming from I wouldn't settle for the standard system TBH.
my current car (a mini) has the HK system (presumably the same as other BMW's) with loads of extra speakers etc. My previous car (Aston Martin Vantage) had the upgraded stereo too. The Aston has WAY better sound quality but extremely antiquated technology. I seldom turn the volume past about 30-40% on the mini, mainly because my choice of music is as eclectic as my choice of cars and this occasions much embarrassment from any family members in the car, especially if the windows are down. When I'm driving long distances I tend to listen to audio books (mainly Hitch Hikers Guide or Cabin Pressure OVER and OVER again). When I'm driving Mrs Omni to work it tends to be whatever radio station annoys me the least, so a very small selection. When I'm waiting to pick Mrs Omni up from work I tend to watch video's. I always thought a beefed-up sound system was important to me, but it turns out that when I really think about it, it really isn't. Maybe its an age thing, maybe I'm just odd, but for me I am sure the standard radio will be fine. I can always turn it down, open the windows and sunroof and listen the purr of the V6 or the abuse from all the Tree Huggers for driving a 4x4.

Can't Mrs Omni get the bus?

I'll get my coat...
