Not really. All I'm saying is that if it were around £3-400 extra it probably wouldn't even become a topic on this forum.Sweetmeister wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 5:38 pmThat’s man maths at its worst! I know what you are saying but not every dealership will offer £500 more come trade in, most as stated earlier aren’t bothered. So it’s £800 which is just not worth the money.PorscheMack wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 5:27 pm Now, with my Devils Advocate hat on, those that are in this position, think about about this.. If the Bose system cost an extra £250 would you add it? If it cost £450 would you add it? Probably Yes. So the hesitation is about reluctantly spending £400 extra on a Porsche for an upgraded Audio system. I personally Will be including this in my spec which "for Me" completes the package.

I don’t think it’s worth it either but so many of the Porsche options are hideously overpriced. Painted sideskirts for nearly £600, coloured stitching for £1k extra and so on.Sweetmeister wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 5:38 pmThat’s man maths at its worst! 100%. £850 is a great deal of money to upgrade something you've already got, in fact it's considerably more, as you are effectively trading in the Standard system for an upgraded system. But that's Invisible money but you're still paying it.Jon A wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 5:46 pmI don’t think it’s worth it either but so many of the Porsche options are hideously overpriced. But it’s not £3-400 which is why a lot of people haven’t specced it.PorscheMack wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 5:42 pmNot really. That's my point because if it cost £3-400 we wouldn't be discussing it as we'd think it was worth it and most people would probably spec it without hesitation.Sweetmeister wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 5:54 pmBut it’s not £3-400 which is why a lot of people haven’t specced it.PorscheMack wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 5:42 pmNot really. I’m confused, it’s not £3-400, it’s over £800 and most people don’t think it’s worth that and haven’t specced it for that reason.if the PSE was only £500 I’d spec that aswell and if a new 911 GTS was only 60k I wouldn’t be on this forum!!

Let me put it this way. If it cost £3-400 most would spec without hesitation. It doesn’t and what happens is it ends up getting discussed as being too expensive. Fair enough those that want it will spec it and those that don't want to pay more than say £400 don'tSweetmeister wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 6:03 pm I’m confused, it’s not £3-400, it’s over £800 and most people don’t think it’s worth that and haven’t specced it for that reason.if the PSE was only £500 I’d spec that aswell and if a new 911 GTS was only 60k I wouldn’t be on this forum!!

No audiophile would consider Bose adequate.Bluesnose1812 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 2:57 pmI agree with you 100% but unfortunately they set the price. There will be a class of buyers who want it and another like you and me who are unconcerned one way or the other. Given two cars the audiophiles will want BOSE the tone deaf wont. So naturally you can sell to both camps if you have it. To a lot of Porschers the option list is more important than the mechanicals.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 2:04 pm
I think that Bose being essential for resale is an OPC- generated myth.
The standard Porsche system in the Macan is very decent .
I've had BOSE in Porsche's before and found them unimpressive.
This will be my 3rd Macan GTS and haven't specced Bose once.
The two things I have specced with resale in mind is sports chrono which I wont really use and reversing camera which I don't need either.
Bose is one of these things that people think is nice if buying second hand but I doubt it would make much more than £200 difference on a trade in.
I wouldn't believe the sales BS.

If you do like music, with the Bose sound system all set up properly the system has to be better with over 600 watts of output. That £800 is buying more power and better quality speakers x 14. Has to be better, but I agree, buy it because you want it not to satisfy the used car market.
